Pros: Got 2 pairs on "Daily Special". Wanted to upgrade to 16GB and these were cheaper than the slower RAM my AMD970 board can actually use. So far running as expected, but will never see 2133MHz unless I change MB.
Cons: Heat sinks very tall - #1 slot wouldn't clear my CPU cooler.
Scoped removing heat sinks as MB will only allow 1600MHz - adhesive looked stronger than PCB - didn't even try to pry.
Fairly simple to move fan to other side and set to suck instead of push. Still runs same temps even with all 8 cores at 100%.
Overall Review: Took 1 "egg" off for NewEgg's shipping UPS/Post Office combo. UPS hub 15 miles from me, USPS office 8 miles. UPS had it locally in time for delivery, but instead of going to my house, UPS takes it to my local Post Office for delivery the next day - wasteful.
Was expecting my AMD970MB/FX-8370 to max at 1833MHz, which it did with 2 modules installed. Putting all 4 in, the MB dropped it to 1600MHz.
Found hidden footnote on Gigabyte site that 1833 only works with 2 DIMMS due to NorthBridge heating issues with 4 channels active.
Pros: It worked fine until about a year
Cons: After about a year this RAM will die on you.
Pros: It does what RAM does. I bought this for my son's PC.. Overclocked easily enough with an A78 FM2+ board. Just click on the profile in the Bios that says 2133 and you're good to go.
Cons: The heat sinks are like ninja star sharp. But, that could be a pro when you think about it.
Pros: Faster then my G Skill 8 GB 2x4 9-11-11-31
And i can sell my old one for $40 instead of spending $65 on another pair G Skill 8 GB
(2more slots for update in future)
Cons: None so far
