Does this card come with the Low Profile bracket for small form factor computers? I purchased one from Best Buy that had the "LP" on the box because it had the bracket inside. I need another and BB is out of them.

Yes Ken, 
The box contains a low profile bracket. Whether or not it will fit in the small form factor computer, I cannot answer as I did not use it. However, if you purchased this from BB previously and used it successfully with the LP bracket, it should be fine.

Does this card support dual monitors?

yes it does - but just 2. I've used DVI and VGA, or DVI and HDMI sucessfully.

can you use this with a 220w power supply?

Accepted Answer

The card draws 44 Watts. If the rest of your computer draws 176 Watts or less, then it will work (wouldn't recommend pushing the power supply to it's rated max for continuous use unless the rating on the power supply is 220 Watts Continuous).

To find out what the computer draws there should be a sticker on the side or back with the power consumption rating. If you are not removing an older video card, first, add 44 Watts to the computer's rating. If you're removing an older video card you can estimate what it draws and subtract that amount before adding in the 44 Watts.

You can also use a current clamp or other power reporting device to calculate the power consumption of the computer.

Pros: Small sized card

Active cooling(fan)

Cons: So far, none.

Other Thoughts: I bought three of these card for business PCs so the users could have dual monitors. Installed all three on Dell PCs running XP Pro. Downloaded newest drivers off nVidia website and they all installed fine, loaded drivers fine and provided the three users with dual monitor support. An excellent card at a great price that can handle all of our business software.

Question 6

Hello All - Will this graphics card work better playing games like - Novalogic's - Delta Force Joint Operations & Delta Force Escalations?  I have a PNY's Nvidia GeForce 8400GS right now, and it works but only has DirectX 9, would DirectX 11 be better?

There are a couple issues. #1. The game is old. I think it's 2005? so it may not support Direct X 11 anyway. #2. Direct X 11 is only supported by Windows Vista and above, so if you have XP then you are out of luck. #3. Do you have an older computer? You have to make sure you have the correct slot because apparently you can have an 8400 GS that uses a PCI slot. I do not know if they made an AGP version also, but you want to double check the slot(check Wiki for this). If you are worried about the drivers no longer being updated, then you could just live with them as they are. It won't hurt anything if you are satisfied with the one you have. Or.... this could be a good excuse to just build yourself a new computer and play with decent hardware (I have my eye on the new GTX 750s but I am waiting until they become more affordable.) You can probably build something very decent for cheap. The new Intel Haswell chips can be very affordable and are power efficient. My big gripe right now is the sky high memory prices.

I am upgrading my Dell Inspiron 620 to a 600 watt PSU, could I go with a little more powerful card without any problems to the mother board?

Unless you are adding a lot more power hungry add on pieces, I think you should be fine with this card. You can check the specs from the manufacturer to make sure.  I am running this card with dual monitors doing photo and light video with a lesser power supply.

Can I install this to any computer. I have a Dell Optiplex 755, and I want to install my computer to my TV. Is this device comparable with all computers?

I purchased this card  several weeks ago.  The only thing to consider is to make sure you have the correct PCI Express slot.  It is pretty standard so you probably do.  I had an older Median I was working on also.  It would not fit in that.   If you are not sure you can go to the Dell website and should be able to find out what kind of slot is available.  
The board works beautifully.  When I purchased the video card my intent was something else.  However I did end up connecting it to the TV through the HDMI port.  We dropped cable several months back so just have OTA signals now.  If we miss a show we can go the network website and watch the show a day or so later.  The quality is very good, not quite as good as the original OTA broadcast, but very very good. This card works very well for that purpose.

Can you run 2 monitors at  the same time with this card?

Yes you can. Don't use it for heavy graphic things like design software or rendering... it won't perform well. But 2 reasonable sized monitors (18-22") and web browsing it will be fine. Its a cheap card so don't expect much from it.

Yes.  I have one connected to the VGA and the other to DVI.  Depending on your current video card, be sure to install the software using the same connection.  For example, I had only a VGA connection.  I tried to connect the DVI but needed to use the VGA connection to get the installation to work.
