Will this speaker set work with my Blue-ray player that comes with Panasonic  SC-BTT195  ?

Connect the left and right preamp output from your receiver to
the left and right LINE input of the subwoofer . Do not use speaker
wires.

the RCA audio output of your disc player are like the preamp output on a receiver

this is an entry level speaker system (not sure if it will be an improvement over the panasonic) 
I would recommend listening to them somewhere before you buy

can these be ceiling mounted?

Short answer: Yes

How exactly you want them mounted on the ceiling is a different answer completely. Do you want the drivers facing the floor when mounted on the ceiling or facing parallel to the ceiling/floor?

If you want them facing downwards, that's probably not a good idea, and likely would NOT work.

If you wanted them mounted to the ceiling facing parallel to the floor/wall, this can be done pretty simply.

You could literally hammer a nail into the ceiling and bend it 45 degrees and hang the speakers off of them. They're very light weight so you don't need an extremely long nail, but you want to make sure it's in there so it won't wiggle out.

IN short, the speaker system is powered.  There are various ways to hook up the speakers to the A\V unit.  Some of the setup scenarios require that you wire the speakers to the sub, which is powered (but the speakers work without the sub, as well).  Other scenarios do not require the speakers to be wired to the sub, so in that regard, you can operate unpowered.  I am setup with the speakers wired directly to my A\V equipment without going thru the sub and I am very happy with the sound quality.  You can review the various options in the user manual, which comes with the product, or you can view it on the company's web site (web site redacted)  to see if it would work well with your equipment.

Question 4

I am looking for a system for my Dad for Christmas, and I have no idea what I am looking for... This one looks good (with what little I do know) but I See it does not come with a reciever. What would be a good reciever to get with this system. Yes I would like it to be sround sound, and it would be pluging into a BlueRay and a DVR system (Not at the same time.... Unless that is possible???)

I have these hooked up directly to an uncalibrated Yamaha RX-675 ($599 and they have a large line up that you could find a good simple AVR) and am not happy at all that they blow away my Pioneer SC-1222K ($1100) and $25k of studio gear. This system is incredible. The speakers are solid and have a bit of weight that makes them feel expensive. The sub is small, solid and is subtle in sound a perfect way but kills when necessary and has many necessary features that makes it great. At least in the install I have it in, I am totally amazed and when I have to go listen to my Pioneer system I get bummed.

This a great set up and well worth the cash. Or the lack there of. But that's just from my experience and this particular install. But I'd say do it.

Does this product comes with the cables or I have to buy them?

You have to buy the speaker wire to hook it up. It comes with the receiver, 5 speakers and subwoofer only. You'll also need an rca cable for the subwoofer.

What cables do I need? I plan on buying a receiver but not sure where to start with setting this up, really. :/

These speakers have all spring clip connectors. I went with 14 gauge speaker wire but you can use 16g too. You strip the ends and feed the into the spring clips. My receiver has binding posts so I bought some banana plug connectors to go on the receiver end of the wires. I measured out all the wire lengths with a measuring tape to make sure I bought enough wire.

Can you hook an MP3 player to these?

Not directly. You will need an audio receiver of some sort to receive the audio from the MP3 player and rely it to the speakers.

My vizio tv has RCA output, will this work with the pok audio rm6750 or will I still need to get a receiver?

Although you can use the front left and right speaker outputs to feed the sub and then on to the speakers, this will only cover the Front left and right speakers. You will need a source for the other speakers. That means, yes, you will need a 5.1 AVR. If you go this direction, you will be able to power all speakers and the sub (via line out to the sub) separately and not use the sub for the two front. This will be a cleaner install and will allow the AVR to directly control each speaker.

is this work on computer ?

These are not powered speakers (except for the sub) so you would need an amplifier (or receiver with an internal amplifier) to use them. Your receiver could be hooked up to your computer, however, if you wanted to go that route. That's what I've done.

We recently Purchased a 60" Vizio flatscreen and want to consider this system. Do we need to purchase an AVR device for this?
