Possibly, you will have to check your case size and if it accepts PCI-Express. The versions are backwards compatible, although you may lose some performance.

I order 2 of this cards cause im planning to crossfire, I also have a 6970 that is being replaced with this cards, would I be able to use  both this cards with the 6970 I currently have? the 6970 I have is a MSI lightning. Motherboard ill be using is

Yes you well get sound from the hdmi and no the only card that can crossfire with this one would be the 7970 GHZ edition other then that you would need another R9 card

HDMI does carry sound signal, but make sure your video card can output sound with video.

do the fans vent out of the back of the case or inside the case (down).  looks like down vent but wanted to be sure.

The card is about 10.5inches and yeah its vents down cause power color went with one solid heat sink that's also covers the whole pcb which is good for cooling so as long as you have good ventilation in your case you should be fine its very well made by the way great build quality you well like it

What is power consumption per card? It says 500w for the system, but how much would be needed for 2 cards? or 4 cards?

Is that a smaller case? That's what these are made for. Not for the little cubes, but for what looks like a smaller tower (called a mini-tower). One thing though, I have a pretty new Dell and I had to replace my power supply to have enough juice to use this card. I was running a 300 watt before. Now I'm running a 750 W and everything works wonderfully.
