The AMD Radeon R9 390X is a high-end video card built for exceptional 4K gaming and VR experience. Based on the latest generation of AMD GCN architecture, this card features 2816 Stream Processors and 8GB 512-bit GDDR5 memory, delivering new levels of performance and capability craved by serious gamers. A rich array of AMD GPU technologies is included, offering more than one way to elevate your gaming experience, like AMD FreeSync Technology for smooth, tear-free gaming, Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC) for less power consumption by limiting the target frame rate, and Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) that delivers brilliant 4K experience, even on a 1080p display.
This PowerColor DEVIL Version is factory overclocked to 1100MHz (1050MHz for standard), and comes with air-cooling + water cooling hybrid solution for reliable cooling performance in the most demanding situation.
HYBRID solution
Combine both air-cooling and water cooling to one perfect hybrid system to maintain higher over clock performance with lower temperature.
Platinum PowerKIT
The Most Solidly-Built Components enhance the stability, ultimate performance and efficiency.
Dual BIOS, Performance Unlocked
Dual BIOS design, pursuit the extreme performance without worry.
Virtual Super Resolution
Get quality that rivals 4K, even on a 1080p display while playing your favorite online games thanks to AMD's VSR.
FREESYNC TECHNOLOGY
AMD FreeSync technology puts an end to choppy gameplay and broken frames with fluid, artifact-free performance at virtually any framerate.
LIQUIDVR TECHNOLOGY
Enabling liquid-smooth visuals and high frame rates with AMD LiquidVR technology, which will provide broad compatibility, plug-and-play ease of use, and stable platform support for tomorrow's VR vendors and technologies.
TRUE AUDIO TECHNOLOGY
True to life echoes, convolution reverbs and fuller sounding environments with increased voices and audio objects deliver a richer and more immersive gaming soundscape.
AMD Eyefinty Technology
Run multiple displays from a single graphics board and expand your gaming field of view across all displays.
AMD App Acceleration
AMD App Accelerator creates a “co-processing” environment in which the compute processing potential in your AMD Radeon Graphics processor works together with the system central processor, to accelerate enabled applications.
Pros: The Powercolor R9 390x Devil is somewhat of a polarizing card but not because of the tech side of things. As a whole this card will run pretty much anything you throw at it and because it is a hybrid, meaning it is water cooled while at the same time running a traditional fan, it keeps it's temperatures low and stable.
Cons: What makes it so polarizing is particularly it's looks. It doesn't carry the previous design that many Devil series cards used to utilize. At the same time some may not be attracted to the shroud as it does feel light and hollow. As well personally I had no trouble setting up the fan and radiator but the tubing from the card to radiator was a little stiff, so moving it around did require time and patience.
Overall Review: As a whole personally I don't mind the look and I think that it blends in well with the rest of the components but if you can't look past the shroud design then I won't change your mind. Also while the shroud is light and feels like plastic it does seem tough and resilient so take that into consideration as well as the possibility of GPU sag being a non issue due to how light it is.
