Nice lens for the price
Pros: Nice wide angle lens for the price, and with rebate the deal is even better. Seems to focus quickly, and is reasonably sharp from f8 up. Great for HDR shots, and Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom 4 already have a profile for this lens to adjust for the barrel distortion.
Cons: Could be Sharper at lower f-stops. Lens cap doesn't like some polarizing filters(doesn't stay on), but no biggie. Chromatic aberration can be strong but the new lens correction tools in either Lightroom 4 or Adobe Camera Raw can eliminate that problem crazy easy. You have to have to do a little post work with this lens to make the pictures perfect.
Overall Review: If you are a photographer you should have either Photoshop or Lightroom which is a must with this lens. It is a good lens and the better the exposure the less you'll have to tweak, but I have yet to get a shot that I could leave untouched. Hence the 4 out of 5 eggs. A good lens for the price, but not Quite as good as the Canon 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 USM. And if you have a full frame Sensor it isn't even in the ballpark with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.
Inconsistent at best
Pros: When it works it is consistent with 3.0 Speeds. Wprks fine with all 2.0 devices.
Cons: This works ok with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive on my ASUS Formula IV connected to the USB 3.0 ports built in. When I try to use it with my older ASUS M3a79-t deluxe and a PCIE-1x USB 3.0 card it will not work with 3.0 devices. It usually will detect a HDD or thumb drive but it will immediately drop the connection. I have a 3TB Drive and a 3.0 extension cable connected to the PCIE USB 3.0 card and all works as expected, but as soon as I add the HUB in between any 3.0 divice and the PCIE Card 3.0 devices stop working. Results are the same with or without external power source.
Overall Review: Has no issues with USB 2.0
Absolute GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Looks good on Paper
Cons: Failed losing me footage of the solar eclipse last year
Overall Review: Stay away. Should have researched these are know to just stop working. Well the cards get locked so you can only fill them up once. you can read the info but you can't write any new info. I put this into a dash cam and cot some footage of my trip bit when I went to capture how the environment changes during the eclipse and it never recorded.
It just Works
Pros: Reasonable price, and it seems to be very reliable
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Stick it in set XMP profile and your off to the races.
With a little tweaking it's perfect
Pros: Spot on color. Solid feel and construction. Beautiful anti glare screen. Six axis Hue and Saturation controls built in grid overlays for cm, in rule of thirds, A4, Letter, 8x10, 5x7. 4x6, 3x5. 2x2(US passport). Picture in Picture DisplyPort out for Daisy Chaining multiple displays. For what this Monitor does I can't believe it is so reasonably priced. Just a great value all around for me.
Cons: To utilize the 10bits per channel you need a workstation card which are quite expensive unless you know were to look. Even then it isn't really necessary and turning on 10bit output on you card will disable Windows Aero in Win7 and all the peak features in Win7 and 8. Also the pre-calibrated color modes Adobe 1988 RGB and sRGB represent those color spaces very well however I print to an Epson 9900 from Photoshop and no matter what color space I was set up in in Photoshop the matching Color mode on the Monitor did not give me matching colors in my prints. I had to tweak one of the User Modes matching it to several test prints until I got the colors locked in. Now I get EXACTLY what I see on my screen no matter the color profile I am using in Photoshop.
Overall Review: I do a lot of artwork reproductions and for me this monitor is going to save me so much time and money. Time and Money that was wasted printing prints over and over because my Dell UltraSharp U2312HM's 8bit panel could never display the colors I was trying to find. It goes something like this. So I would make a print, check the print against my monitor, Hmm the blues in my print are too red. OK. lets add some yellow to them. (not much changes on the screen) reprint DOH, blues are turning green in my print now. OK. let's dial back the yellow. reprint, Dang now their too red again. And back and forth and back and forth. You get the picture. That has become a thing of the past thanks to this monitor
What the first gen should have been
Pros: Fast and responsive. Great speakers this time around. Good battery life. Lookin forward to Kit Kat update very soon!
Cons: None really
Overall Review: Best bang for the buck for 7 inch tablets.
