Big things come in small packages!

Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 Blue Intel Atom N270(1.60 GHz) 10.1" WSVGA 1GB Memory 160GB HDD Netbook
Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 Blue Intel Atom N270(1.60 GHz) 10.1" WSVGA 1GB Memory 160GB HDD Netbook

Pros: I am very impressed so far with this netbook and I must say it has exceeded my expectations! It is so handy to have such a small formfactor that delivers so much power with so little heat. This net-book runs quiet and cool and has plenty of power for everyday things such as email and net surfing. It comes with XP Home Edition with Service pack 3 installed. I only had to add around 21 more megabytes of downloads from Windows updates to have it fully updated. That is not including the latest 248 MB 3.5 .NET upgrade which I skipped for now. The battery it comes with provides up to 6 hours of up-time for me with no changed settings in power options. I am certain I could add more time if i were to tweak the power settings, but six hours is more than sufficient for me at this time with everything enabled. It is one of the best investments I have made in quite awhile and that is saying alot as I have purchased many things from Newegg in the last few months!

Cons: <Begin Cons>The only con I have is the Synaptics touch-pad is a bit annoying at times with its little swirly that pops up and the onboard touchpad buttons (left/right) are WAY too hard to push. <End Con> I bought an external wireless mouse and it is much easier to just use that instead of the touchpad. I bought the Microsoft Wireless 3000 mouse in the Blue color and it is "almost" the same color as the Acer Netbook itself. It is a close match for sure. Do yourself a favor and get a nice wireless mouse to complement your Netbook purchase. I purchased Newegg Item#:N82E16826105229 for those that are interested. The keyboard takes a little getting used to, but considering that this Netbook is so amazingly compact, this keyboard is actually GREAT with good feedback and a short learning curve. I really don't consider the keyboard a con. The Onboard Wireless is easy to configure and found my network with no problem. After supplying my encryption key I was up and running!

Overall Review: I have been looking around for some games that will run on this netbook and so far I have found that PopCap games will run of course and Starcraft and its accompanying expansion pack. You will need an external cd/dvd drive to get the games on there initially, but Starcraft can be enabled to run without the CD present after the online patch is installed. I am sure other games will run, but I have only just begun to play around with that feature as it is just a bonus to an overall nice Netbook. I am certain I will be able to play ALL of my "legacy" old-school games on here and maybe some newer ones as well. Concerning the RAM: You can also upgrade the RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB very easily as well. It is readily accessible under the hatch on the bottom of the Netbook. I purchased Newegg item #N82E16820145172 and installed it and it is working perfectly! Overall, this is a great netbook at a great price that comes with a 6-cell battery, great wireless capability and great range!

Only the USB connection works!

Rosewill RCR-IC002 - 74-in-1 Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 Ports & Extra Silver Face Plate - Fits 3.5" Drive Bay
Rosewill RCR-IC002 - 74-in-1 Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 Ports & Extra Silver Face Plate - Fits 3.5" Drive Bay

Pros: Well...the USB connection works, but that is all! Under device manager all it shows is several yellow exclamation points and so far the only thing I can get to work is the USB connection. $13.00 for one extra USB connection is not worth it. Take my advice and buy a better version even if it costs a little bit more money!

Cons: Too many to list at this point in time. MAYBE I will be able to get it to work eventually, but I am not holding my breath and I won't be paying return shipping on this item as it just wouldn't be worth the money. I have bought several Rosewill products and they have worked. This is the first time I feel let down by Rosewill. This item should be plug and play with no drivers needed from my understanding!

Overall Review: Rosewill, I see that you are offering to replace these units, and I will accept a replacement, but if I have to pay return shipping I am not interested. When I buy a product I expect it to work as soon as I plug it in. I understand that issues come up, but quality control needs to be more thorough in this day and age to tell you the truth.

BELKIN: Worst Customer Service EVER!

BELKIN F8GFPC200 N52TE Tournament Edition
BELKIN F8GFPC200 N52TE Tournament Edition

Pros: Great unit until you need it serviced. I bought a two-year extension (three year total warranty) to ensure coverage on a unit I felt was worth it. Now ONE key has popped off (broken plastic on one side) and I got the runaround for hours on it. I chatted with Belkin support who told me to call customer service. I called customer service who told me to fax my invoice in proving I had a two-year extension on my warranty. I told CS I had no FAX machine and could I have an email address to mail it to. They gave me an address that led nowhere. I again chatted with support who once again told me to call CS. By this time CS was closed for the day and I informed the chat rep that I wanted that email address and to stop having to deal with this since I paid for the extra warranty for a reason. They responded that they didn't have the email address in question and "Why do you want this email address anyway?" This rude rep made ME feel like a criminal for wanting my warranty honored.

Cons: The chat rep then escalated the chat to a "supervisor" at Belkin who told me the same thing the former rep told me. Are you chat people reading off of a script? I asked the supervisor to escalate my issue to a "Senior Level Tech" and have them call me to discuss this issue. The "Senior Level Tech" DID call me. You know what he told me? The very SAME thing that the lowest paid chat tech told me in the beginning. He told me to call Customer Service. REALLY? Belkin, I hope you are paying your "senior" and "low-level" TECHS the same amount of money, because one is just as useless as the next. This will be my last Belkin product EVER. If I can't get support on my products that I purchase warranties on, then there won't be any more purchases of Belkin products. It is quite simple really. People vote with your money. Belkin support is a joke. Service.net warranties are a lie and a joke as well. Don't buy them.

Overall Review: Service.net called my key popping off "damage" not covered by my policy although they will cover damages due to electronic or mechanical failure. A key on a keypad IS a mechanical issue. Does anyone there understand the "mechanics" of how a key presses an electronic pad that sends an electrical signal to a computer that tells the computer what you mean to do? This is the most ridiculous thing of all. Why would warranties be allowed on a product that is to be "deactivated" before the warranty even expires. Belkin and Service.net have lost a customer for life. I know you could help if you wanted to, but that is the whole issue here isn't it. You don't really care. That should be your new advertisement. "Belkin...we couldn't care less about you." Service.net...you are just as worthless and even though I have purchased your warranties in the past I won't ever again. NOT HAPPENING! Newegg cared, but couldn't help me. Thanks Newegg for understanding my frustration when I called.

Very quiet!

PC Power and Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7
PC Power and Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7

Pros: I want pay tribute to this power supply by keeping it short and quiet! Buy this supply if silence is your forte! This supply barely makes a sound and adequately powers everything you can throw at it!

Cons: Nothing!

Overall Review: I have never liked modular power supplies and this supply will NOT disappoint as it is not modular and has very long leads. This might be a problem in small cases so be aware that some of these leads are long and are made for larger cases. You can always hide some of these away in the lower part of a smaller case, but as mentioned...these leads are long and powerful!!!

Great RAM!

Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G8500ELKN
Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G8500ELKN

Pros: I have never bought Patriot RAM before and was wondering about Patriot as I had never even heard of them before. This might be due in part that I have always bought systems from Dell, HP, etc. until just recently. I must say that I am happy with the RAM concerning everything from its performance to its looks! This RAM looks great in my ANTEC 1200 series case and was instantly recognized as PC8500 at 1066MHZ! This was in a EVGA 780i motherboard with a Q6600 Quad-core processor. I haven't really played with RAM timings too much as their initial timings of 5-5-5-15 seem to work very well and are far faster than what I am used to. This seems to be some quality RAM at a great price!

Cons: None so far!

Overall Review: I bought the Patriot RAM cooling fans that snap into the unused RAM slots and they really enhance my Antec 1200 case as well as keep my RAM a little cooler to boot! These fans are a great addition to an already nice looking system!

Very Happy!!!

EVGA 132-YW-E178-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA 132-YW-E178-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I bought this motherboard after reading loads of reviews about its predecessors and decided I wanted to own an EVGA motherboard. I have read both positive and negative reviews of some of these boards, but let me say that this is the first system I have built totally on my own from scratch and am very happy that I had no problems whatsoever! I have alot of technical knowledge, yet have never built a system based on the LGA 775 platform. I coupled this board with a Quad Core Q6600, and 4 GB of Patriot PC8500 RAM. This system booted perfectly! I put this setup in an Antec 1200 series case with the PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W power supply! I used the Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000GLFS 300GB SATA Hard Drive as my system drive and the Seagate Barracuda 7200 ST31000333AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive as a storage drive! Couple that with a LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model iHAS120-08 (which I received free with the combo deal) and I built myself an awesome system!

Cons: None at all so far!

Overall Review: I decided to add a Superclocked 8800 GT EVGA PCI Express card into the mix and again I must say WOW!!!!!! My frame-rates are phenomenal and I got all of this for under $1400! I haven't even listed all of the extra things I purchased such as RAM cooling fans from Patriot memory and the Arctic Silver CPU compound, etc. These are just odds and ends, but end up making for a great, stable running gaming computer!
