Perfect for Hackintosh
Pros: I recently built a new system for W7, so I decided to turn my XPS 420 into a Hackintosh - for some reason the stock CPU fan ran at full speed all the time, which made it sound like a jet taking off. I found this item, hooked it up today and the "on-board" heat sensor/fan control works great - plus this thing is very quiet even at full speed. Thermal paste is as good as any I have used.
Cons: None so far but will update if anything new happens.
Overall Review: Ordered it on12/22 - got it 12/23! Even at Christmas time, Newegg has fast shipping!
No Caller ID in Windows 7 32 Bit
Pros: None - Doesn't do what I wanted it to do so there is no way, even at this low price I could call this a good value.
Cons: Products that only support obsolete operating systems should be advertised as such. I am glad Rosewill makes a great, cheap modem that supports Windows XP - I just don't use XP. The real con here is the poor online support and documentation at Rosewill's website. I doubt I will take the risk of time and money to buy another of their products.
Finally, I can hear myself think!
Pros: My XPS 420 stock VGA fan sounds like a mosquito buzzing in my ear - or maybe a hydroplane? Anyway, it was high-pitched and unpleasant to be sure. Pretty easy install, very quiet and seems to be keeping the card cool so far. As long as it keeps working, I will have no complaints.
Cons: None so far but will add to review if anything comes up.
Overall Review: Bought 12/22 - arrived 12/23 - Fast Newegg shipping even at Christmas!!!
Works for me!
Pros: Works perfect in my PPC 6600 from Sprint, stored a bunch of music and 2 movies for a recent plane trip - I also stuck it in my digital camera and the indicator gave me 900 pictures! I'll buy another before I go on vacation.
Cons: none so far!
Overall Review: Other people had problems, I think it might be compatibility issues rather than a defect in this memory card -
One word, AWESOME!
Pros: Not as big as some heat pipe coolers, cools my Athlon 64 3500+ with no trouble, even with the rheostat on the lowest setting. VERY easy to install, very high quality and looks really cool! The stock heatsink I replaced would be hot to the touch, this thing is cool to the touch.
Cons: None so far - Will report back if problems
Overall Review: I am using this in the Nmedia PC HTPC 100 case, fit with no problem.
Where have you been all my life, Nmedia?
Pros: Looks GREAT, the LCD on the front is very cool, case is high quality, easy to assemble with enough room for a BIG heat-pipe cpu cooler, very quiet, well ventilated (runs cool), dvd door works great and you don't have to install it like with some HTPC cases, card reader and other front jacks easy to set up.
Cons: None for me, but if you are inexperienced, this could be a frustrating case to work with as it is a micro atx, and as with any matx case, the order in which parts are installed is VERY important, or you will be taking stuff out and putting it back in. Also, an IR rcvr would be nice, but some MUCH more expensive cases don't have that...
Overall Review: I can't say enough good things about this case for the price. It is very quiet, it has a nice glossy look, fits right in with media components like my Comcast tuners, some have been worried about the rheostat on the front, it works perfect, is easier to access than one on the back would be, and you know excactly how fast the fan is spinning...don't hesitate to buy this case.
