Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard - Retail

4 out of 5 eggs Nice keyboard! 10/06/2011

This review is from: Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard - Retail

Pros: The keyboard is aesthetically pleasing with multiple brightness settings and a textured wrist pad. It's simply designed, but has no lack in features. I don't play PC games that often so I probably won't get too much use out of the macro keys, but it's nice having them there. It's not too noisy to type on, but not too silent or mushy either. Personally I think the key response is perfect. It feels great to type on.

Cons: The S1 macro button is incredibly sensitive to the point it'll activate if I just brush my finger over it. It may be just my keyboard though. The good thing is the software comes with the option to disable specific keys - since I don't play games all the time 5 macro keys is plenty.

Also it seems that the volume buttons are not functioning any more, although it may just need a reinstall of the drivers. My biggest complaint is that it would appear the media buttons only function with winamp and WMP. It would be nice if they worked with any open and playing media player, since I normally use itunes and VLC player.

Other Thoughts: This thing is perfect for my needs, I'm glad I bought it.

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0

Pros: Awesome case!! Looks really sleek and mean. Convenient placement of USB and firewire on the top. Great ventilation, and very nice and quiet. Plenty of room to work with.

Cons: Cable management was difficult with my PC power & cooling 750 quad PSU.

Other Thoughts: If my current antec breaks for whatever reason, I'll be buying another 900.

ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

5 out of 5 eggs Great! 02/16/2008

This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: Cools well. My e8400 wolfdale runs at 35 degrees C on light load. Probably could be even cooler if my computer was in a better ventilated spot. I didn't know it came with an external fan speed controller, that was a nice surprise :)

Cons: Instructions not very good, it took a while to figure out how to get it on my board.
