Perfect budget HTPC
Pros: Small. Silent. Cheap. Pulled it out of the box, installed Win 7 with drivers, hooked it to the network and was ready to go in about 45 minutes.
Cons: HDMI resolution is set in the bios and maxes out at 1360x768.
Overall Review: Hard drive installs in a little caddy. You unscrew the caddy, screw the HD into the caddy, then fasten the caddy back to the motherboard. You need to be very quick on the draw to get into the BIOS.
Didn't work for me
Pros: Drivers install when you plug the device in.
Cons: Thought this would be a solution for an old LGA 1156 i7 with an open USB 3.0 port and a second VGA monitor that I had on hand. The monitor is 1600x1200, but I couldn't get this to work properly at resolutions higher than 1024x768. Works like a boss with my Haswell laptop.
Good drive, bad support
Pros: Fast, cheap, big enough for Windows and the apps I use on my old laptop
Cons: Be sure to have your own disc cloning software if this isn't for a new build or fresh OS install. After hours of frustration, I finally gave up on trying to activate the ancient version of Acronis they say they provide to you. 1 egg off for this.
Overall Review: This little upgrade will allow me to wring another year or two out of my aging Haswell laptop. Worth the money, but don't expect customer support.
Great inexpensive HTPC
Pros: Small, silent, easy to set up.
Cons: DDR4 RAM is pricey!!!
Overall Review: The 4gb of RAM I bought for this thing cost half as much as the little computer itself. After installing Windows 10 (which was quick and problem free) I went straight to YouTube to test out streaming 4K 60fps video. No problem whatsover. This little box is a winner.
Great for the money
Pros: This fanless computer is 100% silent. It is fast enough to stream video at 1080p, which is why I bought it. However, I haven't tried to stream HD video while doing anything else simultaneously. VESA mount will allow you to mount this on a monitor for a compact machine that is perfectly capable of web browsing and common office tasks.
Cons: Video drivers are fairly rudimentary with few adjustable settings. If you try and hook it to something weird, you might have trouble. It is no speed demon, but I got the computer for marginally more than a copy of Windows, so the value for the money is excellent.
Overall Review: My copy didn't come with the W10 anniversary upgrade. As another reviewer points out, you will be wise to update Windows and get everything current before installing application software, since the 32GB eMMC is more than half full with just the OS alone.
Good case at a nice price
Pros: Big enough to make installing components easy, small enough to serve as an HTPC. Good looking. Sturdy.
Cons: Buy an 80mm fan when you purchase this case. The included fan is entirely too loud.
Great seller
Prompt shipping. Great prices.
