works like a charm
Pros: this soundcard produces a clear, clean, deep detailed sound. the card is designed for specifically music. But I found it to be really enjoyable for both music and games. the sound control center panel is easy to setup and use. It hasn't given me any issues at all so far.
Cons: I was shockingly disappointed at first after proper installation in Wind7. Because Wind7 didn't recognize the device and there was no response from the card. Finally, I figured it all out by downloading the drivers for Wind7 from asus website right after installing the card. the cd included only had drivers for vista and xp. the worse was the downloaded driver was in a compressed format file and I had to use winzip to open it up then install it.
Overall Review: I upgraded to this soundcard from asus xonar dx. from my experience with the two cards, they both use the same driver version and the same sound control center panel. if you can't afford the stx, the dx sounds almost as good as the stx.
bargaintastic sound
Pros: the equation of excellent sound equals excellent soundcard/audio chip plus excellent speakers/headsets. And my system meets all these components and this speaker system is one of the pieces. It sounds so fantastic for both music and games. those who complained this speaker system is not good enough either had a cheap soundcard or low-end onboard audio chip mobo.
Cons: None!
Overall Review: I didn't buy the system from newegg. but I bought it a local chain store. I was looking for a high-end system between corsair sp2500 and this system. Finally, I decided to go with this logictech system because the sp2500 subwoofer was too big for my space. And I glad I got this and saved some green for a good headsets later.
Yeah!
Pros: This card never disappointed me. I have this setup as SLI and its performance is equivalent to the gtx 590. The only time it falls behind the gtx 590 is when some games require more memory.
Cons: SLI setup draws a lot of power (i need a 1kw psu) and generate a lot of heat.
Overall Review: Man! it's getting cheaper and cheaper every month. If you can afford, I recommend it. Better yet get the one with double memory.
Practically very good
Pros: It's supplied with standard 3-pin fan connectors only. It works like a charm and looks and feels quality built. Installation is not that hard in CM HAF-X.
Cons: The controller doesn't have any sort of shortcomings. But I wish all the knobs should be featured as first push-in all the way to hide the knobs, and second push-in to release the knobs to come out for fan speed adjustments. Right now those knobs stay protruding too much out.
Overall Review: I have the AeroCool V12XT Controller. It looks a lot nicer than this controller. But when it comes to performance this Scythe controller is a kicking hard and has twice the power.
It really works.
Pros: It looked like kids' toy but it worked and reduced the temp of my gtx570 about 5c to 10c. It's quiet at low speed setting and reasonably loud at high speed setting. I placed it in the CM Half X.
Cons: It looks cheap and it's not free. But I don't mind getting another one if I need to.
Overall Review: My gtx570 superclock got overheated and crashed sevreal times during gaming. I took off its plastic cover and let this blowing directly to heatsink and it did help the temp go down.
It's an awsome case.
Pros: This is an awsome full tower case and builders' dream. It's roomy, very big, quality, included all necessary accessories, and expensive too. I'm sure I won't buy another pc case for a long time. I have the CM Storm Scout and HAF 922. But this tall-big-box really amazes me.
Cons: None - It has everything I needed for my build.
Overall Review: Here are the hardwares what I put together in this big case: I5-2500k cpu Asus Sabertooth P67 mobo Crucial 128gb ssd sata III Corsair XMS3 PC12800 DDR3-1600Mh 8gb EVGA GTX 570 in SLI Corsair liquid cpu cooler Xion supernova 1000 watt psu
