Fair Price, Solid Build, Solid Performance
Pros: This is a solid 5 port desktop switch. It is a nice compact metal case with two mounting holes on the bottom so it can be securely mounted on a wall, or even a desktop for that matter so it does not slide around. It comes with a power supply and little cloth stickers you can put on the bottom to prevent it from scratching up your nice desk top. :-) The unit has the standard lights on the front and are quite visible and there is a master power on light on the right side. This is a fanless unit so there is no concern for those of you who hate noise and I did not notice that the unit got terribly hot under load. I hooked 4 computers and a network printer to the device and did not notice and hiccups at all and file transfer of both small and large files were swift.
Cons: I have no complaints about this little switch at all! One can always argue about price, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and I believe this is a good buy. I find no fault in it and have no problem recommending it to anyone!
Overall Review: If you want a sturdy, reliable 5 port switch, I say go for it! Buy this thing and be happy! LOL
POOR QUALITY CONTROL
Pros: I gave this board 2 stars because it does "offer" a lot of nice features for a board in its category. Make sure to read my cons!
Cons: I have been building computers for close to 20 years and I have built many of them with MSI motherboards and have never had a problem with MSI. There must be something seriously wrong with their Quality Control of late however. When deciding on this board I read the other reviews on here as well as other review sites and and they were mostly positive with the exception of an occasional complaint of someone receiving a dead board. For the most part when I read a complaint of a dead board I ignore it and accept that on occasion a bad apple gets tossed in the basket and have even received a couple of DOA boards myself over the years. I even read one review where the person claimed to have received 2 bad boards, but discarded that as being an ID-10-T problem with the user. Where this board is concerned though, I am not so sure that was the case and had it not happened to me I would have NEVER believed that someone could possibly receive two DOA motherboards in a row.
Overall Review: I am still having trouble believing that I received two DOA boards in a row and have tested and retested them in every way possible with various other components and power supplies. The truth is though that as soon as I installed an ASUS board and put the processor in it, everything worked!!! I DID receive two DOA boards in a row and just can not excuse that. I gave 2 stars because the board does OFFER a nice set of features. Good luck getting one that works though!!! I have one being RMAed and will return both of the ones I purchased for something else. For an award wining board there are a LOT of DOA reports in these NewEgg reviews. The board is only good if it works as designed. Buyer Beware of this Motherboard!
Excellent and Reliable
Pros: This is an excellent little, near plug and play, range extender. The build quality is not bad at all and in the roughly six months I have had it in use it has held up just fine with out a single problem. The WPS set up button works just fine if you follow the proper sequence of pressing the button on your router, then on the extender within the required amount of time. It has lights on the front that will help you to determine the direction and quality of your connection that give you a good visible overview of what's going on. This is Dual Band, so you get your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands extended out with this single unit. I have the unit located at least a couple hundred feet from my main router located in my basement office. This extender provides the range necessary for my kids to connect through the house on the main floor without a problem. Without an extender it is impossible to receive a signal in the far bedrooms on the main floor of the house. With this Range Extender we have a 5 Bar signal everywhere! The unit has a Ethernet port on it and can be used as an access point if that's what you have a need for and is a nice added feature. The device plugs straight into the wall outlet so there is no block with cord to get lost or deal with which I think it nice.
Cons: The only real thing I can see that some may consider a con, is that because it plugs directly into the wall outlet, you may not be able to use both plugs on the outlet you use depending on it's location.
Overall Review: I would have no problem recommending this to anyone, it does a really excellent job, has a number of nice features, and the cost is reasonable for what you are getting.
Nice, lightweight little drive
Pros: The drive is compact, lightweight, and powered by the USB port... Transfer speeds are smooth and quick and there is a small indicator light on the drive so you know it is powered up.. The thing makes no noise at all that I can hear during file transfer so it is very quiet. The drive comes with a USB cable so there is no need to purchase an additional one. Transfer speeds are excellent in both USB 2.0 as well as USB 3.0... While the drive is lightweight, the case seems well constructed and is sturdy. The back is smooth with small spots that stick up in each corner like little tiny feet and the front has a slightly course surface.and the corners are slightly rounded so there are no sharp edges.
Cons: While there is an indicator light that shows the drive is powered up, that seems to be the only purpose it serves. It slowly pulses on and off, but does not seem to indicate drive activity. It would be nice if it turned red and flickered during file transfers so you knew it was functioning..
Overall Review: I think this is a great drive and well worth the money... It's sturdy, well constructed, quiet and quick... It's also very compact so will take up little space in your computer bag and can be easily stored in a desk draw..
Nice Cooller
Pros: Nice cooler for the price and gets the job done.. Definitely better than a stock cooler...
Cons: None
Overall Review: I have used these a number of times in system builds over the years and they perform real good for air coolers... Never had a problem with them at all... They are quiet and keep things cool... They also look nice if you have a window in your case..
No Problems
Pros: Solid construction, no complaints...
Cons: None
Overall Review: Put 8 Gigs of this in an ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard with an i7-3770 CPU and it booted right up with no problem... Had to manually set it to 1600 in the BIOS, but that's no big deal... System is running great so far...
