Most Critical Review

Horrible Wireless

NETGEAR N300 Open-Source Gigabit WiFi Router 128MB NAND and 128MB RAM, 480 MHz MIPS 74K Processor (WNR3500Lv2)
NETGEAR N300 Open-Source Gigabit WiFi Router 128MB NAND and 128MB RAM, 480 MHz MIPS 74K Processor (WNR3500Lv2)

Pros: Gigabit speeds, looks nice. Range is OK; was able to go through three stories of house.

Cons: AWFUL wireless connectivity. Tried a few different firmwares, Tomato proved to be the best overall, although you lose gigabit speed. Router is approximately 15 months old now. Each month the wifi speeds got slower and slower and slower until now. Wifi is less than 4 mbps now consistently, was as high as 35 or so a few months back. Needless to say, I'm actively seeking a new router to replace this one.

Overall Review: My previous router I got about 4 years our of. I'm about to switch back to it, since the wifi speeds are at least faster than this one. Won't buy a netgear again, and would NOT recommend this router; it just didn't last very long considering the price paid ($90).
