Well worth the money
Pros: Work, and works extremely well. I finally have a stable connection! Included USB cradle works well. Cable is long enough to place cradle anywhere withing 3-4 feet of your PC.
Cons: It's a bit large, but I expected that. Don't order overnight shipping on Thursday nights. Product didn't actually leave the east coast until Sunday night (I live on the west coast)
Overall Review: Bought a 40 dollar Belkin N150 at a major retail store because I needed wireless access right away. With 2 thick walls and other wireless connected devices between my PC and the router, it was not able to hold a stable connection (despite recieving 4-5 bars) and timed out connections every 2 minutes. When it did stay connected, I was only getting 2mb downloads. Bought a $65 wireless network extender. This helped a little and I was able to get 10mb downloads and more stability. It stopped timing out, but would still have intermittent connectivity issues which meant major lag while gaming. Finally got this and connected directly to the router and am getting a stable 50 - 75mb download speed (wired speed is 100-120mb) and 10-11mb up (matched with wired speed!) with a 270mbps connection to the router through 2 heavy walls, about 30 feet away with tons of interference from the 20 other wireless networks in and around my building.
Won't Boot without CMOS Jump
Pros: It works... kind of.
Cons: I built my new PC and was happily enjoying it. I put it to sleep when bedtime came, then woke up to play some more. To my horror, the PC would not boot out of sleep mode. Holding the power button would not shut down the PC. The restart button would not work. Flipping the PSU switch off, turned the PC off - well at least that worked! However, my attempts to reboot from there were futile. The PC would not post. After reseating everything, it was obvious this mobo was the culprit. I tried resetting the CMOS by removing the battery. Still would not post. Opening the manual, it told me to try using the "Clear CMOS jumper". I assumed there would be something to slide over the rails on the mobo for this, but NOTHING was included. This is my first budget build so I've been spoiled with reset cmos/bios buttons that just worked. I used a screwdriver. Due to the very vague instructions and unclear instructions, I may be shorting these jumpers incorrectly. It shows Keep Data as 2 gray squares, and Clear Data as two black squares. What does that mean? How do you short them? What do you use to short them? I'm lost and confused! So, eventually, by shorting the CMOS to the "CLEAR DATA" (I think, again I'm still unclear) position, I was able to reboot. I attempted to reconfigure my overclock settings with OC GENIE which actually worked nicely on my 2133mhz RAM. However, upon saving settings and rebooting, again it would not post. So once again, I short the jumper and it reboot. It appears every time the PC shuts down or reboots, I will need to short these jumpers, which means I will not really be able to overclock because even the CLICKBIOS app included requires a restart when attempting to overclock. I may just be shorting the jumper incorrectly, but again, because the instructions in the manual give no real idea on how to set these jumpers, I have no idea. I have no other motherboards I can test with or use, and I need a basic functioning computer so I can do my work, so I'm not really in a position to be able to RMA this, not can I afford to buy a new motherboard in the meantime. Unless MSI can come around and fix my stupidity, want to send me better instructions or fill me in on something I'm missing, this will probably be the last MSI motherboard I purchase. I knew I should have spent $20 more on an ASUS board.
Faster Than I Thought It Would Be
Pros: -Works! That's always a good sign! -Better than Seagate! -Fast Boot Speeds. Good for Gaming
Cons: None yet!
Overall Review: I'm too broke to afford a separate drive for my boot drive, especially an SSD. I needed a reliable name for my only hard drive. The WD Blue performs really well, even compared to my older system that had SSDs. It's not going to match it, but considering I expected boot times and load times much longer than what I'm getting now, I've been pleasantly surprised. Works well with boot, storage and gaming files all on this drive together. I'll get a seperate SSD for booting when I can afford it, but this does the job well for now.
Nice RAM, cheapest 2133MHz at time of purchase
Pros: -Worked with no problems. -2133MHz! -Cheaper than 1600MHz kits on newegg -Overclocked to 2133MHz, CAS 9 with MSI OC Genie automatically! Blazingly fast!
Cons: None. Need 8GB of RAM? Get this kit!
Lovely Cheap Gaming CPU
Pros: Works. Fast. Overclocks easily enough. Not intel i7 fast, but does non-cpu intensive games well and can handle 50+ firefox/chrome windows open no problem.
Cons: Gets hot. The stock fan and thermal grease is poor quality. Get yourself another cooler if you plan on heavy overclocking or CPU intensive activities.
