Still working fine

Pros: Inexpensive and works as advertised. Lasted the winter mounted up under the eve of my garage. Motors still work witrh no locking-up or reset issues. Rock soilid so far.
Cons: Manual focus
Overall Review: I disassembled ther unit and removed the IR filter to increase night response. Worked great, I can see a bit better in low light conditions... but an IR floodlight would dramatically help it out. If I get a chance I'll upload a tut video in case you want to remove the IR filter as well.
Not quite

Pros: It works and is stable w/2TB drive. Included cams are good.
Cons: Dosen't flag recordings when motion zone has been violated, which defeats the ultimate purpose of buying system. You have no idea if anything is going on without reviewing hours of footage. The unit is SUPPOSED to have an "alarm" function which tags events in red, BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. I've tried many settings, upgraded firmware and even contacted Rosewill for help, all efforts were fruitless. I'd have purchased a different unit if I knew that at the time.
Overall Review: Instruction manual stinks. It lists the functions without describing them, so you have no idea what some of the settings mean. I'm ready to sell the DVR or try and flash LINUX on it for better functionality.
fat control box

Pros: Metal housing, robust.
Cons: Fat inline control box
Overall Review: If the little inline control box to access the cams internal menu system was able to break-away from the unit it would be much better.... Having to drill massive 1" holes through walls just to feed the wiring through stinks.
Good

Pros: Works as advertised. Simple install and up in a few minutes. DOES allow vertical mirroring of image for inverted installs. Comes with a (short) cat5 patch cable. Included hardware seems robust. The mount plate is fairly heavy metal and doesn't seem like it'll flex or vibrate much. LOTS of config. options. Should be fun to play with :)
Cons: The internal server seems a bit laggy at times when manually operating.
Overall Review: If you want audio and infra-red buy the next model up, the TV-IP422, (don't think The Egg sells that model though...yet). Could probably make this cam IR sensitive by opening it up and removing the IR filter from over the CMOS.
