Nice deal for the price
Pros: Easy install. Solid build. Will support Quad Core.
Cons: This mobo is VERY picky about the memory you put in it. Highly recommed you check out the validated SDRAM sticks in the manual for this mobo on ECS's website. Only comes with 1 SATA cable too ... most mobos I've picked up come with 3 or more.
Lasted 5 Months Then .. DEAD
Pros: Great for the price.
Cons: Bought these for a Biostar A880G+ back in April, 2012, and realize they are not on the "approved RAM" list for that mobo, but didn't have another way to get 16GB on there for as low cost as these Corsairs. Suffice to say, the past week I've been having BDOD's about every 3 hours. Just ran MemTest and its about 1/2 way through the test ... 123k errors so far. Will be picking up some G.Skill's that are on my mobo list. RAM was great when it lasted, but only 5 months of use then they die?
Works for 3.5 weeks then dies
Pros: Connectors are solid, PSU is quiet
Cons: Died after about 3.5 weeks. Once installed everything was running fine; about 2 days ago I'd notice my graphics would error out - I'd see some weird artifacts and then it would just die. Reboot would fix it. Then, after rebooting I'd go to open up a browser and BAM machine would SHUT DOWN. This happened about 3x in a row then when I'd go to power on (and even reset CMOS) I would get no boot up at all. I had another LEPA PSU I hadn't used yet and swapped out for that and everything works fine now. The design and build "seem" fine but I'll be hesitant to buy LEPA again after this RMA.
SD Card Broken
Pros: Extra USB, I guess.
Cons: SD card worked once. One time, and then broke. Could not get it to read anything after that. The USB port continues to work, but the whole reason I bought it was for the SD reader. I hate having to run over to my printer to put in the SD card, run back and work on photos. Thought this would be a good solution, but Rosewill seems to have went chintzy on the SD card controller.
Overall Review: Sending it in for RMA with Newegg ...
Check your Mobo 1st!
Pros: Very, very fast .. does the job at a much lower cost than some others.
Cons: Be absolutely sure your mobo can set the voltages and timings right! I have an ECS 650i and with the BIOS that came on it, it would not let me set the 4-4-4-12 that this memory is rated at. Put the latest BIOS on and I lost the 2.2v setting. So, found the 2nd to last BIOS and I could only set 4-5-4-12 @ 2.2v. I'm pretty stable at that setting, but I'll just forwarn you to MAKE SURE your mobo can do the correct settings for this RAM.
