So far so good
Pros: Goes nicely in my living room with all my other equipment
Cons: only 2 HDMI inputs....would have preffered 4
Overall Review: I got this unit when it was on sale for 379 durring a shell shocker sale....for the price it couldn't be beat!....I sure didn't want to buy an "el cheepo" vizio from walmart....works great and is rated well with consumer reports
Udpate
Pros: Uh, it looked pretty? It worked great.....for about 2 months
Cons: I had problems from day one. When installing windows, it failed to read the hard drive. It only happened once so I thought it was a glitch. Last week, my computer would power cycle about 2 or 3 times before booting up. Last night my computer wouldn't even turn on. I removed the graphics cards, cd rom, and memory thinking it could be one of those.....still dead. I tried a different power supply to no avail. This is my 4 motherboard from Asus. For $469 dollars...I expected more. From what I hear, Asus sucks at customer service.
Overall Review: I hope Asus sees this review and tries to make it right.
Noctua NH-U9DX
Pros: Easy Install, Dual Fans
Cons: Somewhat disapointing performance for the price.......and the fans included with this heat sink are ugly
Overall Review: I switched out the included fans for some xigamtek red/black ones which had a higher airflow and where just as quiet....all and all.....I would get it again
Pros: I picked this monitor up on cyber-monday for 132 with a 5% of promo-code....so I basically got this monitor for a stellar price. It has tilt / swivel/ pivot adjustments as well as a USB hub.
Cons: For the price I got it for, I really don't have a lot to complain about. However, as others have said....this IPS monitor skimps on features common to other IPS monitors. Other reviews say that this monitor is too dark. I have had no problems with the picture quality or brightness, but then again, I am coming from an HP 8730 workstation notebook which has the darkest monitor on the planet in my opinion so anything will probably seem better.
CORSAIR QUALITY
Pros: Its a corsair product. Low profile so doesn't conflict with my noctua nhd14 heatsink. Survived a 2 hour burn in test using Prim95
Cons: This memory is some of the most reasonable ddr4 memory in terms of cost.....still, ddr4 memory is way too expensive in my opinion
Overall Review: I got this memory as part of a combo that came bundled with the Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard.....and yes the memory is on the QVL
CM HAF XM
Pros: This case is spacious and has plenty of cable routing options as well as good air flow. I got this case for $79 after rebate.
Cons: This case is called a mid-tower case, but it is closer to a full tower case in size. I almost didn't have enough room under my desk.
Overall Review: It's kind of my fault for not checking the size in the specifications. I liked what I saw in reviews from MaximumPC and PC World....so when I saw that it was classified as a mid-tower case, I bought it thinking it would be smaller than a CM Storm Trooper which I also purchased in the past from newegg.....but that case was listed as a full tower which is about half an inch taller.
