Does as expected, and a bit more

AMD RYZEN 5 2400G Quad-Core 3.6 GHz (3.9 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2400C5FBBOX Desktop Processor - Retail
AMD RYZEN 5 2400G Quad-Core 3.6 GHz (3.9 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2400C5FBBOX Desktop Processor - Retail

Pros: People keep saying this only has four threads, but that isn't the case. It has four cores with SMT which equals eight threads. The only game I really play is Rocket League and get around 45-50 fps with 1080p resolution and max settings. I play at 720p with performance preset and get around 80fps which if you know the game, that's just fine. The lower TDP allows for a cooler quieter experience than my Phenom II 955. That one was so hot and loud.

Cons: I've noticed sound stuttering during video, not sure if this is a GPU issue or accidentally picking out the wrong set of RAM, but the glitches are still a problem/con.

Overall Review: If you did your homework, watched some Youtube videos/reviews and what not, you should know what to expect from this APU, it is about 50% faster feeling than my previous A10-7870K. I have enjoyed owning it these past 6 or so months.

Most Critical Review

Great life, average lifespan.

Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: 7200 rpm, quick for a mechanical drive ( fastest one I've owned anyway ). Transfer speeds ranged from 20MB/s to 120MB/s depending on what was being copied.

Cons: After googling the average lifespan of a mechanical hard drive, I find it to be 25,000 operational hours or 3-5 years. I really find this disappointing, nonetheless, it lasted from Nov 2012 to Mar 2018.

Overall Review: I bought my brother the same drive, at the same time and his only lasted 2.5 years, so I guess I'm lucky, still wish it would have lasted another 3-4 years.

It's a power supply.

Pros: Worked great for a little more than 2 years

Cons: Wish it would have lasted longer

Overall Review: I estimate that the total run time of this power supply was around 13,000 - 15,000 hours. That's just the time used, I rarely turn off my computer, but it is set to go into standby. Power supplies don't seem to last long in my house, and this one was no exception, as stated, just a little more than 27 months out of it.

Hesitant

MSI 880GMA-E53 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 880GMA-E53 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Recognized my 2 SATA 3 GB HDD's, G-Skill ram, nvidia 8800vid card. On board video worked with HDMI output and DVI. Didn't try audio though.

Cons: Manual didn't say how to install the RAM, have two sticks of G-Skill ram (value version I believe), just says when installing multiple sticks to put one in slot 1. Tried to put both in slot 1-2, wouldn't boot. I put in slots 3-4, booted but locked up win7. Put in slots 1-3 and seems to working fine. Windows Experience Index is 7.4 on this board vs 7.6 on previous board. Actual benchmark using Heaven 2.5 didn't show a difference, so no biggie there. Hopefully it holds out, dad recommended MSI because he has had them last up to 6-7 years.

Overall Review: There seems to be a few saying there is only 1 fan header, but there are 2 other headers than the cpu fan header. Also, will check but my HDLED isn't working either but am wondering if it's because the poles are reversed compared to the rest of the headers.
