Does As One Would Expect It Too
Pros: 500GB, USB 3.0, No need for power supply, Compact, Lightweight but yet has a solid build feel to it, runs quiet & cool, unique white led, as most I've seen/owned are R/G/B
Cons: Unique cable end, not sure if its due to being USB 3.0, (my 1st, so not familiar w/the look of the cabling) but seems its proprietary to this Ext HDD, minor inconvenience if you're like me & tend to swap out Ext HDD's regularly, super glossy finish might be a problem to those who don't like to see fingerprints, lol
Overall Review: As a gift, great, no complaints from me, but if I were to go & buy a new Ext HDD, the plug might keep me from going w/this model again...
Round Two - Crosses Fingers
Pros: Good looking screen, decent sound, dark blacks, nice colors, 3D worked good
Cons: Died in less than a month!
Overall Review: The 1st one worked great for the first two weeks, then it started exhibiting the 'Black-out' screen issues, that I've been reading about. Then a game froze on the PS3, had to restart PS3, that's when the screen refused to come back on, the blue light, followed by a green LED, that switched to 2 flashes of a red LED. DEAD in 3 weeks! Hope this one lasts longer.
Side Note
Pros: None this post, read my previous post for input...
Cons: Formatted for NTFS, not FAT32 like so many other Ext HDDs... Loaded it w/over 200+GB of data to use w/my PS3... FAIL UGH, my fault for not paying closer attn @ first.
Oh Sony... A lil disappointed!
Pros: Like advertised, great screen right up to its death... Good Blacks, Great 3D, decent sound for what it has, but 2nd one died the same death. Blue light, green light, 2 red flashes, nothing...
Cons: Hate to even say this, but I'm getting the impression that Newegg is very aware of this problem, as they told me if the replacement unit had ANY problems that I had to take it up w/Sony, as expected, but they should take note & maybe consider warning customers, guessing that it 'our' responsibility to warn each other.
Overall Review: First one lasted exactly 3 weeks, showed signs of problems, then just died. Second one worked great, I was a lil hesitant @ first as the shipping box was beat to heck, the Sony box was scuffed, ding/dented (so much so that it dented the upper left speaker grill). But seeing how I wasn't getting this one replaced (at least not by NewEgg) I used it, flawlessly for 1 day shy of 6 weeks! Now the frustrating battle on phone/email/etc w/Sony, I'm out $400, the time it took to set up (in a wheelchair, Pain the UNO what). Unless ya have a bunch of money to 'burn' & absolutely must have this screen, best of luck to ya, hope yours lasts longer than the 2 I've tried, won't give up on Sony just yet, but this is leaving a nasty 'taste' in my mouth...
Nice Ext Enclosure 4$
Pros: Sleek looking, EZ to assemble, SATA~USB, Price, comes w/a mini screw driver, screws & a nice lil carrying case
Cons: Super mirror like finish attracts fingerprints, if this could bother you, then avoid this case at ALL costs, lol
Overall Review: I'd originally bought (by accident, early morning orders, lol) an IDE version of this case, the carrying cases were completely different, the SATA version has a magnetic 'clasp'! I tested its strength on the inside of the flap, had low attraction to a fine wire, but still did, so if you're leery of data corruption... FYI Otherwise, assemble, plug & play, might have to initialize the HDD.
Great [Screen] 4 Money
Pros: Multiple Inputs, Nice Picture, Multi Input, Good Appearance, Lots of Ports, Crisp & Bright, Did I mention all the Inputs?!? Minimal Space, so this screens multi input is fantastic. Even better when Westinghouse sends that rebate check!
Cons: No Speakers, but really, who doesn't own at least a decent set of speakers these days. If you don't then stop reading and start shopping, Newegg has a Great selection of them! Slightly awkward to do screen adjustments, button placement isn't the best.
Overall Review: Computer, PS3, PS2, PSone, PSP, BaseStation w/DVD, VHS, DSL connected to it!
