Good cheap parts

Pros: I bought 3 of these for a home rack project and for the most part they are performing quite well.
Cons: As other reviewers have mentioned the metal washers are difficult to align properly and seem flimsy. This is only really a problem with tight clearances like my build where I have a 12U rack full of cases. If the rails aren't aligned perfectly the cases will rub or not move at all. The plastic clips also seem flimsy but they haven't broken yet. For the money I really can't complain.
Overall Review: These were shipped to me just as they were from the factory. They had very poor packaging with only one small piece of tape over each end. Two of the three rails I ordered came fine but the last one arrived open at both ends and missing parts. I am dealing with the shipping company to fix the problem but they should have been packaged better to begin with. These are thin boxes with heavy parts inside so more thought should have been given to they way they were packaged shipped. Overall I am happy with the purchase.
Two versions?

Pros: Sturdy case with good ventilation. I bought two of these cases for a NAS / Server and personal computer.
Cons: I bought two of these cases and they appear to be different versions. The first version is great but the second (I assume newer?) is another matter. The second one of these I received has one space for a hard drive on each side at the very bottom of the assembly but because of the stand offs on the base of the case they are not able to be mounted at all. Also, the assemblies are warped in such a way that you can only fasten the hard drive to the assembly with one screw. What this means is that if you want to put ANY hard drive in this case you have to use adapters. There are also only 8 slots in total on the new version where the old one had 10. So this massive case can hold a total of 6 drives because 2 of the 8 don't even work. I'm not even sure what to say about this other than this is a serious flaw that really needs to be fixed.
Overall Review: This is my third case from this manufacturer and two of the three are this model. The first one I received is great and works perfectly. The second one has some serious flaws as mentioned previously. I bought these cases for a home rack project I am building but I am really disappointed with this last case. I will just have to deal with it because the cost of shipping this thing anywhere for a refund combined with the shipping cost of another case of similar design just doesn't make sense. I will be telling people to stay clear of Istar cases unless they make this right because this is a glaringly obvious flaw and they still pushed it out to consumers. With all that said I am reasonably happy with my other two cases that I bought from Istar.
RMA Trouble

Pros: VLANS.
Cons: Management interface is terrible. Switch broken after 2 months. Terrible RMA process. Never buying Netgear again.
Overall Review: I updated the firmware on this device and now it will not take any passwords so I cannot configure the switch. Netgear support says this is a hardware issue and they will replace the switch when I choose one of three shipping options: 1) take my network down for a week and ship the switch to them first. 2) pay 1/3 the purchase price for them to ship the switch to me first. 3) pay 2/3 the purchase price for them to ship the switch first and next business day shipping. In order to keep my network up I have to pay 1/3 of the purchase price of the switch at a minimum. Netgear RMA process is terrible. I will pay the money this time and I will never buy another Netgear product again. To Netgear: if you want to keep customers you should really rethink this process.
