Great for a Designer on a budget
Pros: Great specs, fast - really fast! Has a great look and feel. Super quiet. Full HD resolution. The illuminated keyboard is amazing. I'll never burn a Blu-Ray but at least I know I can.
Cons: The battery could use a few more mAh, life is only a couple hours with the keyboard lit and the display brightness at 100. Its hard to find a good angle so the colors look consistent from the top to bottom of the screen. The track pad click is a little stiff but I might just need to break it in.
Overall Review: I chose this computer because I needed a good laptop for graphic design on a budget of $1K. It runs the Adobe Creative Suite applications impressively well with great speed (I can't say enough how fast this thing is). I've yet to render video, but if it renders video as well as it renders just about any Photoshop filter it won't disappoint. For the price of a MacBook Pro with similar specs, you can get this laptop and still have money left over for a nice external monitor and some Bluetooth speakers to really enhance the computing experience.
Sweet Laptop
Pros: Best CPU in a laptop for the money on NewEgg. I am using this laptop for graphic design and so far all my Adobe apps work excellently. The perfect computer if you want a fast basic laptop that will get the job done!
Cons: 1. LCD screen is hard to find that perfect viewing angle and the reds look a little orange to me. 2. Only 160GB HD. 3. No HDMI or DVI out. 4. Bombed out optical drive not even a burner.
Overall Review: I already replaced the HD with a 500GB Hitachi and installed Windows 7-64 bit. Once the other 2GB of memory arrives this computer will out spec the $1200 MacBook Pro and I have less than $600 in it. No way to tell this computer is refurbished other than the sticker on the bottom.
Good Cheap Keyboards
Pros: I work for the IT department at a local law firm. We purchased 3 of these keyboards and they all worked perfect. We plan on buying 10 more!
Cons: Not really any
