Nice Center Channel

Klipsch Synergy C-10 Center-channel Speaker Single
Klipsch Synergy C-10 Center-channel Speaker Single

Pros: Great sound for the price.

Cons: Too small to match with my new Klipsch F-20 front speakers. Music doesn't sound as good as it should

Overall Review: I bought this center channel to improve the quality of sound in dialog with my Energy Take 5.0 speakers and my Klipsch Synergy Sub-10. The audio produced was so good and crystal clear I decided to purchase the F-20's and S-10's to make a complete Klipsch 5.1 system. Unfortunately the F-20's over powered the C-10 a little too much. I returned it and ordered the C-20 to better match the complete system. For a 5.1 home theater setup, I'm pretty happy. However, music (jazz in particular) doesn't sound as good as it should. It still sounds better than my good sounding Energy Take speakers though. Movies, on the other hand, are great. My first Klipsch speaker system was a GMX 2.1 system. I bought this system around 2002 while in college and still use them today. I listen to and transcribe a lot of tenor saxophone jazz solos on this system. I still think the GMX speakers sound better than my this Klipsch Synergy series. But to be fair, I haven't had time to break them in yet.

Disappointed

MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1 CH Premium Home Theater Speaker System Black System
MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1 CH Premium Home Theater Speaker System Black System

Pros: They look good without their covers. Reminds me of some JBL monitors I used in college.

Cons: These sound really thin in mid range. I listen to a lot of jazz and you miss so much with these speakers from the snare drum with brushes, to the high hat, to the sub tones of a tenor saxophone, down to the timbre of a bass.

Overall Review: I was hopeful these speakers would sound good based on reviews. However, my old Klipsch GMX 2.1 computer speakers sound WAY better when hooked up to the same receiver in a side by side comparison. I don't consider myself an audiophile but I do have a degree in music, which means I've done a LOT of listening. I know what sounds good and these do not. Very disappointed in the sound quality of these speakers. I cannot believe ML lists these for $1,199 on their website. I can see why they're being unloaded. I wouldn't pay $150 for them. If you care at all about hearing the subtleties in music don't buy these.
