140mmfan with 120mm mounting holes.

Phanteks 140mm CPU Cooler Fan Upgrade, PWM, 1600 RPM High-Static Pressire, PH-F140HP_BK2 White/Black
Phanteks 140mm CPU Cooler Fan Upgrade, PWM, 1600 RPM High-Static Pressire, PH-F140HP_BK2 White/Black

Pros: quality built. runs quiet at lower speeds and not loud at higher speeds. PWM for automatic control by motherboard or aftermarket fan controller.

Cons: only 'con' i can think of is people not knowing what they're typing and giving a good fan a bad rep. this fan is 140mm but uses 120mm mounts. most (not all) cases have multiple mounting holes for case fans.

Overall Review: :-)

Not as nice as I thought.

Cooler Master HAF X - High Air Flow Full Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0 Ports
Cooler Master HAF X - High Air Flow Full Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0 Ports

Pros: Beautifully finished case, inside and out. Solid basic construction. Plenty of options for airflow. Not overpriced and (in my opinion) what you get is in line with what it costs. Most everything works as intended. Side-mounted hard drives work great, there are plenty of bays, and the doors will do fine over time if not man-handled. More than 13" of clearance for long video cards. 9 expansion slots. Switch for front fan LED.

Cons: All the plastic is thin. Filters on fans are near useless and all but the front are a pain to access. If you plan on installing an additional 140mm fan on top, plan on spending a few hours rerouting the front panel connections. Power and HD LEDs are held in place with loose friction fit and will likely fall out without user intervention with hot-melt glue or RTV silicone. No 80mm x 15mm fans supplied for included video card support... and the support can't be used with the included side-panel fan duct unless much plastic is cut away. No fan supplied for the included/added air duct behind the hard drive bays. Not meant for EATX motherboards, even though there are 9 expansion slots. Included casters are a joke, will likely break under a loaded box, and there is zero clearance for power supply air intake without them unless the p/s is mounted to push warm air into the case. 5.25" front SATA HD drive bays are nice, but the backplane is very delicate.

Overall Review: Early adopters beware ~~ front panel USB3 is a cable pair that runs through the case to the rear USB3 connectors. As with most cases I've bought in the past decade, included fans are cheap (not sturdy), but are not overly loud. Same with the side panel thumb-screws. Nice sliding door to cover on/off and other buttons but no cover for front panel USB, audio, e-SATA, and Firewire. 5.25" drive bay securing mechanism works minimally, and not at all if you don't like loose drives. Problem fixed by using screws to attach the other side of your drives.

buy this at your own risk.

NZXT IU01 Case Accessory
NZXT IU01 Case Accessory

Pros: great idea for extending USB functionality without using an external device bay. comes with Velcro and Molex power cable. not terribly expensive, and i'm sure that some of them work as advertised.

Cons: **please note that this review is related to an order made directly from NZXT and not thru Newegg. 1. packaging. 2. defective, out-of-the-box. 3. horrible customer support from NZXT. packaging -- the small box that this USB device came in fell apart and allowed the circuit board to be tossed around during shipping. this is likely why it was... defective out-of-the-box -- definitely not the end of the world, and something that should be very easy to rectify. well, i suppose it would be easy if it wasn't for the... horrible customer support from NZXT -- actually, i'm understating the issue. it is worse than horrible. had i been able to get someone on the phone or to reply to an e-mail, i could have at least complained about it while asking for an RMA.

Overall Review: defective parts are just something we all have to deal with occasionally. i have personally had to return bunches of components... video cards and motherboards mostly, and there was that mATX case i had a problem with last year... but my point is that it happens. assembly issue, component failure, or packaging problem... it's no big deal. right? well, here we have a vendor, NZXT, who apparently doesn't know the how or why behind customer service. 45 minutes on hold calling at 16:00 eastern time... then requesting an automated callback... then sending an e-mail. all useless and pointless. all with no reply. as far as i'm concerned, the $ i spent on this device is a lesson learned. i have no intention of patronizing a company if i can't get even a reply after-the-fact. note to whatever NZXT employee is planning on replying to this... please don't. i am not interested in dealing with your company at this point... i am just trying to warn others of what is in store for them.

it's what it looks like.

Samokleykin Sticker Filter - PC Fan Dust Filter 850x155x5mm
Samokleykin Sticker Filter - PC Fan Dust Filter 850x155x5mm

Pros: foam filter material, intended to self-adhere to clean surface. packaging is reusable. advertised measurements are accurate. product is easily attached in spite of poor adhesive, and thin enough to mount between fan and case without hitting fan blades. this stuff is a welcome addition to a sparse selection of customizable filter material.

Cons: adhesive not permanent but *way* overpriced for cheap foam, and that combined with international shipping (no fault of merchant) equals poor value (strictly my opinion).

Overall Review: order was placed, merchant shipped, and tracking # issued within 1 day of order. no tracking info for entirety of delivery, which took almost a month. of course, this was not the fault of the merchant, who was very responsive and quick to blame the USPS. also, package was sent registered mail, so i had to make a trip to the post office. maybe not a problem for some, but an inconvenience for me. all this hassle would be eliminated if Newegg would stock the item in-country. i would buy this product again for a lower price and shipping from within the USA.

ok folks, this is a really nice case.

Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support
Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and LAN Box Desktop Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support

Pros: extremely high quality build and finish. no sharp edges anywhere inside or out. thumbscrews everywhere. yards of cooling options including room for more than 1 radiator. very sturdy and solid feel, especially on the top and side panels. power supply has isolated air-flow with removable filter. front bezel is easily removed (no harness) and inexpensive to replace or to have a spare if you are modding. also, power supply has a love-it or hate-it unique mounting plate... i think it's great because it makes for easy access and allows for partially sliding out the p/s during the build. finish is flat-black and exactly the same inside as outside. CM did not skimp on the quality with this case.

Cons: not many cons, and none worth removing an egg from the rating. limited options for cable management due to case size. adding liquid cooling limits air-flow options if you're not planning on modifying the case. a third of the fan options are 2x80mm... and that is the entire forced-air option for the lower level (where the drives live). only removable filter is under case for power supply... the front filter mesh is built-in the bezel and will need either vacuuming or remove-and-wash.

Overall Review: do not listen to reviews saying there is a problem with the x-dock controller card. the only issue is an upside-down mounted molex connector that, if you're not shining a light on, can easily be connected wrong. light your work area and you won't have a problem. e-atx motherboards may fit (some will, some wont, depends on physical size) with small mods.

in all fairness to ASUS tech support...

ASUS P9X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: 1st call in to ASUS support I landed a bad one. The person who handled the RMA was great. :-)

Cons: Still 2 eggs for the originally stated reasons...
