No Regrets Here
Pros: With a well ventilated case it is extremely effective in keeping your CPU just above ambient temperature when under a full load (i7-2600-K). I suspect that the few people complaining about inadequate cooling have either misapplied the thermal paste, have a poorly ventilated case, or both. I also don't understand why some people think the enclosed instructions are hard to decipher and the assembly is difficult. I thought the instructions with photos were clearly written and the assembly/installation is simple, straight forward (attach 4 screws through motherboard to a bracket that fits to the underside of MB, apply thermal paste, attach cooling unit, done). This is one of the least expensive, and effective, add-on CPU coolers you can buy. My internal case temperature runs between 22-23 degrees C and the CPU at idle is 25 degree C and 29 degree C at full load.
Cons: No cons as long as it will fit into your case.
Overall Review: If your case is poorly ventilated and if it runs hot then this CPU cooler will not perform miracles. I find that it is a much better alternative to liquid cooling...just as effective, no worries about potential leaks, no need to monitor and replace coolant, and the noise level is moot since the PS exhaust fan is louder. As long as this unit will fit your CPU and MB there is no reason to spend more money.
So good so far
Pros: This RAM has been a problem free upgrade for my Fujitsu T900 I7 laptop. Increasing from 4 gb to 8 gb of memory has made it more responsive when using multiple apps in conjunction with Nuance Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2. I had made the mistake of going to the Crucial web site RAM configuration tool. The site recommended 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) with a Cas latency of 9. So I purchased the recommended type of RAM but when I took out the old RAM it had a Cas of 7. The PC3 10600 RAM with a Cas of 9 was incompatible, all I got were the dreaded BSOD's, and it is being RMA'd. I should have looked inside to see what the manufacturer installed but the Crucial memory adviser web tool has never steered me wrong before. Anyhow, this was an inexpensive upgrade, the RAM appears to work flawlessly, and in the future I will never use the Crucial memory adviser web tool again. I will also give Newegg 5 eggs for a simple RMA process (although using their "get a good deal" with UPS by printing out a return label through the Newegg website generated a return shipping label with an out of pocket cost of $9.95) I saved a few bucks by using the USPS which was under $2.00 with insurance. The replacement RAM was ordered on Sept 5 with free 4+ day delivery but it showed up on my doorstep in 24 h. Who else but Newegg is so efficient? Got to love them.
Cons: None
Better than Expected
Pros: I was able to take advantage of the $ 199 and free shipping black friday special. For the price I wasn't expecting too much. However, I have been quite surprised. The picture is crisp, sharp, bright, and no ghosting is present. While many people comment that the sound isn't the best they may have a different reference point...I find the sound to be adequate, it is way superior to the sound from TV's manufactured from the 1970's to 2000, and if you aren't satisfied an external upgrade is still fairly cheap. The speakers are front firing and they sound much better with the TV mounted on a wall than if the TV is placed onto a flat surface with the accessory stand.
Cons: The PC audio input does not work (using DVI and audio out from laptop). This wasn't a big deal as using the laptops HDMI output to one of the TV's HDMI inputs works perfectly and Netflicks looks as good as DirecTV. However I feel that this desrves the loss of an egg.
Overall Review: I was impressed enough by this television to purchase a second one through another online vendor. It has performed identically to the one I bought through Newegg. Just like the first TV, the second TV's PC audio input is non-functional so I assume that this is a manufacturing problem. If you don't have a HDMI output from your PC you may want to avoid this television.
Good Choice
Pros: Relatively quiet...you can buy both noisier and quieter fans but for the price performance ratio (free with manufacturers rebate and with Newegg free shipping) there is no competitor. Air flow is more than adequate. If I ever need another 120 mm fan I would still buy this one at its regular Newegg price without the rebate and without free shipping.
Cons: None aside from not auto installing by itself.
Overall Review: What more can you ask for. It's a blue lit fan. It moves air, noise level is low enough that it can't be heard over the power supply exhaust fan (OCZ ZT Series 750W), and it is cheap.
Works extremely well
Pros: Easy to install. Works better than expected. I had just built a new rig and I struggled with the concept of water cooling. Considering how much I spent I was a little hesitant to take the small chance of a leak or the need to add coolant every few months. This CPU cooler had excellent reviews, was inexpensive, so I figured what the heck since I got it on sale with free shipping. I bought it about 1 1/2 months ago with some Arctic thermal silver paste. By the time I had put the build together I was unable to find the Arctic paste and used the Cooler Master thermal paste that was included with the CPU cooler. I am still getting the system optimized so I haven't tried overclocking yet (I7 2600K). However at idle and light load it hovers between 25-26 degrees C and at higher load it will peak at 29 degrees C.
Cons: None at this time.
Overall Review: Thermal paste is cheap and Arctic silver paste works great. However the enclosed Cooler Master thermal paste seems to be more than adequate and I can't imagine that the CPU temperatures would be any lower with the Arctic paste. I can't wait to see how this CPU cooler works when I try overclocking. This CPU cooler is a very good value, packs a lot of bang for your buck, is easy to install, and hopefully the fan will be trouble free. Overall this cooler deserves 5 eggs and I would highly recommend it over a water cooled system unless your case has a ventilation problem.
Great Case and Fantastic Value
Pros: I had bought a black X-Jupiter S-type case from Newegg but they are no longer listing it so I am placing my review under the metallic grey. While a mid-size case would probably meet my needs, I prefer a full size case since my hands are large. This was a very easy assemble with copious interior space. The only problem was that the motherboard USB sockets were along the bottom side of the case and towards the back. This necessitated buying a USB MB extension cable which is no big deal. Unlike many full size ATX cases, the front panel door is aluminum and NOT plastic. There were no sharp edges to slice yourself on inside the interior. The screwless assembly for both cards, optical drives, and HDD's worked great. I prefer the top mount for the power supply as it never made sense to me for bottom mounting (last time I checked heat rises). This is my fourth Apevia case and I continue to be very satisfied with their products. At $69.95 and free shipping you can't find a better case.
Cons: Big con, not for Apevia but for Newegg. I was sent a repackaged case with damaged hardware. Some of the plastic rails for mounting the optical drives and hard drives were broken and glued together. Two of the metal optical drive faceplate covers had been removed by the previous owner. I have no problem buying a product that has been returned if it is in relatively new condition. There were enough unbroken rails to complete my build but if I add any drives in the future I will need replacement rails. Apevia has fantastic customer service. They stand behind their products and stock replacement parts. I was thrilled last year when they were able to supply rails for an old Alien full tower ATX case.
Overall Review: The included fans are very quiet and provide adequate airflow. The build has a full size MB, 16 GB ram, I7 2600K processor, Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler, full size video card, two Blu-Ray burners, 1 SSD and 2 2 terabyte hard drives. The case temperature runs 22 C, the CPU at idle is 25 C, and with processor intensive activity the CPU spikes at 30 C. Although it is overkill I am adding an additional 120 mm fan to the "blow hole" at the top of the case since I have an unused fan sitting around. I also like the solid panel in contrast to a see through panel. I really have no desire to see the inside of my case. Living in Arizona results in a layer of "protective" dust that covers everything. Placing air conditioner foam filters over the intake fans helps somewhat but I still need to use compressed air every few months to keep the dust to a minimum. If you need a full sized ATX case then this is the best value to performance case available.
