Good WiFi Extender so far
Pros: Instructions make this an Easy Set-Up from a laptop wirelessly for someone with modest knowledge Solid Wireless Performance relatively Inexpensive
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: I use this as a wireless extender in an upstairs hallway and it works well. The set up was simple and done through my browser, where there are three options for specific uses. It gives a default SSID as the same one that is being extended but with "_EX2" added to the original SSID. You are able to keep the same SSID password or use a new one. I kept the same one to minimize the impact to all the laymen/laywomen in the house. I'm an engineer and a have a high technical knowledge, but this was far easier to install the ones I've used in the past that required a lot more manual configuration, ie no physical connection or static IP required. There are options for a proxy and other typical settings but not for a power user.
Rosewill HIVE-650 - Missing PCI-E Connector!
Pros: Modular Cables 80+ Efficiency rating
Cons: Mine shipped with only one PCI-E connector. BSODs after 10 seconds.
Overall Review: I need to six-pin PCI-E connectors for my GTX460. I tried using an adapter to connect to two molex connectors to make a PCI-E but it immediately gave me BSODs in Win7. Customer Service says up to a week (3-day UPS shipping only) to get another PCI-E connector, so I'm computer-less until then. Poor quality control, as I've read about the same thing on other posts. If I ordered a car that came with the transmission low gear missing I would be upset as well. Not a happy customer. Buyer beware.
good monitors
Pros: Good performance Light weight No dead pixels Great for BF4 Premium
Cons: HDMI needs some tinkering to do a dual monitor setup
Overall Review: I bought two of these and both work well out of the box. my GPU is single DVI and dual HDMI so I had to use both HDMI slots for a dual monitor set-up. It took a little effort to get the 2nd monitor recognized for whatever reason but they both work flawlessly after the initial set-up. My son is juiced playing BF4 and minecraft while watching minecraft videos on the 2nd monitor simultaneously.
Power Line Adapter - works
Pros: Easy Install Actually works! No connection drops like wireless did Reasonable price of thirty bucks with the discount from dealnews Small enough to only take one electrical slot
Cons: No pass-through electrical connector, which a higher-up model has, but not a big deal Can't use with extension cords Not as fast as 11n wireless
Overall Review: I'm pleasantly pleased so far and hope it works for a long time. My ZyXEL Q1000Z modem/router has been dropping wireless and would not wirelessly connect to a bridge I was using so I tried this. Set up was as simple as it could possibly be. I had to unplug/plug after I did the extermely simple link set up by pushing the "copnnect" button on the Modem-side device , then pushing the "connect" button on the client'side device, which was a PS3. I will try an ethernet hub with the client-side device next.
Good enough for SLI on a 780i MxBoard
Pros: Audio, Firewire, USB and ESata oon top is great 90 degree (horizontally opposed),Hard drive mounts allow for very long video cards to be used Screwless hard drive mounts are easy to install/uninstall Screwless optical drive mounts Instructions have all the schematics & pictures you need (as long as you can read very small print) External connector cables use plastic routing mounts in side the case
Cons: Power Supply Bottom-mount is a challenge for the 8-pin power connector on my EVGA 780i motherboard that is almost too short The side panel needs another 120mm fan, as there is only a cut-out for one.
Overall Review: I was looking for a case with multiple front connectors and this was on sale. Every connection is aligned wonderfully and the construction isn't terribly cheap. There's plenty of room for my 780i motherboard and 8800 GTS SLI set-up. There's at least 3" of room for GPU length growth which is great for an upgrade path. The manual was easy to understand since it showed pictures indicting how to do all the installation steps. The rear I/O faceplate is padded to provide a snug fit - a nice touch so the thing doesn't put out so much during installation. All mounting holes are aligned nicely. No screws on the PCI/PCI-X slots is handled by plastic, fold-down latch connectors that lock in place. These can break if you force them, so read the manual to see how they fold back. Don't expect to use a combination IDE Optical Drive and Hard Drive if you are using a floppy as there is only one 3 1/2" tray. PATA drives are dead to the inductry I guess. PCI card isn't a good idea here either
