Pros: Works great at 720p, the only resolution my current setup supports. Seems well constructed.

Cons: Flat ribbon not as great for short patch cable type runs as a standard round ribbon would be.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure how important "flat" is on a half-meter run.

5 out of 5 eggs Works great, high quality 10/31/2016

This review is from: Blackbird 4K Pro 1x2 HDMI Ultra Slim Splitter with EDID Management

Pros: HDMI negotiation is fast and consistent no matter what order power is applied. EDID selection works and forces the selected format correctly.

Nice metal chassis and status lights. Much higher quality than the pictures would indicate.

Cons: If you lose the pamphlet that comes with it, you won't be able to figure out which switch settings go with which resolution. One more manual to lose.

Other Thoughts: Note: the switches are on in the down position. It's clearly labeled, but not intuitive.

Pros: Great thermal management. Enormous, oversized, huge, and also quite large heat sink handles heat effortlessly. As many here note, limitations of the chipset/bios will throttle you long before heat or voltage is a problem. Fan almost never spins up on automatic, and in it's actually quite safe to just choose a fixed fan speed and not worry about it, I find.

The FireStorm software allows tweaks from simple presets, advanced presets, and quite unwise power supply twiddling. The card is entirely stable at its default (overclocked) speeds, and the three "simple" overclock presets are well thought out, and my system is quite stable with all of them.

Cons: It's big. I have a huge Antec case, and it extends into the drive bay. It's almost three slots wide. It is very big.

It is also very large in size.

You probably should measure your case before ordering.

Other Thoughts: I had a problem saving presets with FireStorm. While it took a second email (nudge!) to get their attention, once they engaged I got excellent support. They immediately sent me an updated version of the software, which I imagine will be available for download pretty soon. :)
