Overall Review: I bought this processor along with an ASUS H81M-A motherboard to convert an older desktop PC for use as a media center. I was concerned at first that a "lowly" i3 might not be powerful enough until a friend pointed out that the benchmarks for this fourth generation processor are equal to the old i7-920 that I was replacing. This is the first time I have installed a processor (although I have watched it done before) and it was a trivial process. The cooler dropped right in place and snapped into the motherboard easily, and was already coated with thermal paste so I didn't have to worry about applying too much or too little. The only issue I encountered was that I only unwound enough wiring from the cooler fan to reach the motherboard connector, and when I first started up I was surprised at how loud the fan was. I immediately shut down and found that the cooler wiring was so tight in the clips that it was impinging the fan blades. Slipping the wire back to create a bit of slack was all that was needed to correct that. One thing that confused me at first during the setup was that "out of the box" the HDMI output looked good on a 23" monitor, but would not display at the correct resolution when hooked to my HDTV. Of course, installing the motherboard drivers fixed that and the Intel 4600 graphics are easily up to the task of live and recorded HDTV.

Overall Review: The sale price was so good on these so I couldn't resist them. I've been using them for listening to podcasts and watching videos on my Chromebook and am pleased with the sound. They come with FOUR different sizes of swappable ear thingies so just about anyone should be able to get a good fit. I find them to be comfortable and they stay in while sitting and listening. I haven't used them for music so I can't comment on their performance for that, and I'm not very discerning when it comes to music reproduction anyway.

Overall Review: The motherboard on my old desktop PC was getting flaky, so rather than upgrading it I decided to replace it with a new PC and rebuild the old one as a media center. I've worked with computers for decades (started with mainframes) and have done many homebrew electronic design and construction projects over the years -- everything from point-to-point wiring to surface mount -- but have never done any work on PCs. Installing this board was extremely easy and all the connectors matched up with the connectors for the existing case hardware perfectly. This board does not have as many USB headers or expansion slots as my original, but for the HTPC application I didn't need to connect the SD card reader, Bluetooth, etc., and the only cards I needed were the TV tuner and WiFi. The ASUS manual is thorough and easy to follow and the drivers installed without a problem. The HDMI works great -- both video and audio.

Overall Review: My new HP Envy desktop PC has three very easy to access drive bays. However, the connector end of the drive sits very close to the side of the case, so when I transferred a 1TB drive from my old PC (second drive for backup service), the straight connector SATA cable that I had would not fit. This left angle connector worked perfectly.
