Works ok
Pros: Works well when it works. HW raid0 seems to be faster. no need to configure RAID with the OS. Errors that occur have been recoverable so far. More than I can say for most other entry-level raid cards out there.
Cons: Drivers for XP 64-bit edition sometimes have problems during startup or coming back from S3 suspend. Occasionally one of the drives fails to come online, marking the array as invalid. Easy to recover from, but annoying. Happens about 30% of the time. Utilities also cause the machine to lock up for up to 30 seconds after a startup or suspend because the card needs to do a software reset (pop-up informs you of this afterwards). Haven’t tried it on a 32-bit system or on Linux yet.
Overall Review: I usually unmount the drive from the command line prior to suspend or shutdown – this prevents potential write errors if the array fails to come back later. There are also command-line utilities you can download that I have worked with a little. Will probably write a script to bring the array down prior to shutdown/suspend. Also I turn of caching utility on card itself, as this definitely leads to file corruption if the array fails to come back. Configuring the drive for “easy removal” as opposed to windows write-caching performance also helps. Don't get me wrong, its a good card thus far, and you won't find a better one for the price; just has a few issues you should take into account before starting to use it.
nope
Pros: has the chord built into the unit, don't have to constantly look for that Micro B cable that you know you have 10 of but can't find 1.
Cons: Unable to operate under USB 3.0 speeds. Any attempt throws I/O errors. Unsure if cable is USB 2.0 (which would be an interesting design decision) or something else is wrong. All other USB 3.0 products work fine, multiple systems/drives tested, not me.
Overall Review: You can try it, if you get it to work let me know what to do differently.
There are no other mice
Pros: I had a similar Xai laser that lasted ~3 years. It changed everything for me. Unfortunately my 6 yr old twins destroyed it in a fit of rage over who was to play Minecraft first. Worst day of my life man.... I tried to replace it with a Razor I got locally - never do that. My game suffered the entire time. Replaced that heap with this. I'm hooked - there are no other mice. It doesn't have 20 extra buttons or a glowing snake - What it has is pinpoint accuracy and performance. Once you get used to it, you can turn 180° and your cross-hair falls directly where you wanted it to - down to the pixel. Once acclimated, the mouse becomes part of your arm, not a distraction with 10 an extra keypad built-in. The rubberizing effect is also a huge plus.
Cons: I use XP x64 (I know I know). Can't get in and customize it. Still, stock DPI kills the Razor that cost MORE. I'll miss my XP.
Overall Review: Its a raw device that performs to your exact movements. Take time to adjust before going into full battle. Turn off any Acceleration/Sensitivity settings in OS/Game, let SS it do its job.
So far so good
Pros: Works fine, 3.0 speeds. SATA and Molex PSU connections.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Make sure you have an extra cable that can reach from the PSU. Some DELL users may need to re-configure their HD location so as to have a connection that can reach the card. Make sure not to plug in both PSU connections.
works fine
Pros: Works @ 3.0 speeds. no problems.
Cons: none
Well worth it.
Pros: 10° (C or K) drop in temperature over stock hardware - or my own attempts to fabricate a copper heat-sync/fan.
Cons: 3 or 4 pin connector for fan. My card uses a 2-pin connector. Not sure what the third pin is for - otherwise I just would have transferred the old 2-pin connector. I just hooked it into the main power supply instead using an adapter I happened to have lying around and was lucky enough to locate. Note I was hooking it up to a 4670 I think - kind of an old card but whatever.
Overall Review: The included mini heat-syncs are applied with standard heat-conductive adhesive - takes ~ 1hr to dry - take this into account. Head sync should be installed so that it is flush with the MB connector (the other way it won't go in and you have to re-install it - doh!). Otherwise a pretty smooth install.
