Love this printer
Pros: Color, envelope handling, HP Eprint, Good for Small Office/Home Office
Cons: slow to print first page, toner cost
Overall Review: I bought this printer to replace an Oki C530dn that I'd had for over a year. The Oki had color matching issues and envelope handling problems that I couldn't solve. This is a relatively new model of printer for HP, so there wasn't a track record, but I've always had pretty good luck with the higher end HP products. I needed this printer to print our company's letterhead, envelopes and business cards with acceptably high quality in the same color I see on the screen. I'm very happy with the color matching I'm getting from the HP LJPro 400. My Oki wrinkled the envelopes when I printed the return address on them; the HP handles this task flawlessly. In fact one of our partners thought I was getting them printed by an offset printer. HP Eprint software comes with the printer, and I have used that successfully to print while out of town. It's also compatible with Apple's IPad and IPhone, so my husband is able to print from his Apple devices. It comes with the small toner cartridges installed, so after printing ~800 sheets, I'm down to 60% capacity in the color cartridges and 40% capacity for the black cartridge. I'll replace these as they used up with the larger capacity cartridges. Since it's not my default printer, I'm hoping to get a year out of each cartridge. So far I'm on track. It will cost in the neighborhood of $400 to replace all four toners.
Update
Pros: Price
Cons: Actual power less than 480W; light weight
Overall Review: I originally reviewed this power supply as DOA, but my husband and I discovered yesterday we didn't know how to test computer power supplies. When we shorted pin 15 & 16 of the ATX plug, the unit did power up and would probably have worked in the build I was doing. I had already purchased a replacement locally that was a 600W unit, and used that in my build since other reviewers have pointed out that the actual sustained output of this unit is much less than advertised. I did get it for free with a case, so I can't complain.
Should have installed it sooner
Pros: Keeps my CPU cool
Cons: Minimal installation instructions
Overall Review: I bought this last December but never got around to installing in until yesterday, and I see now that I should have done it the day I got it. My system is running an Intel i7-4770K and even though I'm not overclocking I've often seen temperatures of 70C and higher. After a series of unfortunate events I finally installed the water cooler and after 18 hours of running MemTest86 I'm only seeing temps of between 38C and 40C maximum. When I ran MemTest86 before installing this CPU cooler I was seeing 70C and above. I understand that i7-4770K tends to run hot, but I didn't imagine a water cooler could make that much difference. I'm a believer. I considered knocking an egg off because the installation instructions that came in the box are totally inadequate. At every step I found my self with a question that was not addressed by the included instructions. With assistance from DH who does electronics (though not PCs) for a living and Google searches, I got the thing installed. It worked the first time, so I left my rating at 5 eggs.
Works like a champ
Pros: Factor charger for Samsung Galaxy S 8.4" tablet; fast charging; cable fits well
Cons: None
Overall Review: I wanted an extra charger for my Samsung Galaxy S 8.4" tablet so I wouldn't have to move the one that came with it from room to room and so I had an extra one to travel with. This works perfectly.
The only antivirus program I use now
Pros: Finds malware and questionable programs; best antivirus program I've ever used
Cons: None
Overall Review: I'm not sure where I stumbled on to Eset - maybe at another computer store a couple of years ago. I bought it for a machine I was building and I was so impressed that I've bought copies for all the machines we use on a daily basis. It finds malware and has kept me off risky websites, but it stays out of the way during normal operation, and doesn't print anything on the bottom of every email I send out. I've used AVG, Avast, McAfee and probably others I don't remember anymore but Eset is now my go-to antivirus program. I try to stock up on the 3 pc package when they're on sale with a rebate. Keeps the cost down to something that's not significantly more than free. Even at full price I'll still use it if the sales prices disappear someday.
Samsung Charging Cables
Pros: Original equipment charging cables from Samsung
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I have owned my Samsung Galaxy S4 for a year and a half and have discovered that aftermarket cables do not make a good connection and charge the phone in a reasonable amount of time. These cables solved the problem. If they weren't out of stock I'd buy another one.
The seller delivered
The seller delivered the item in a reasonably prompt manner; we received tracking information and had no problems.
Slow delivery
I ordered this item a week ago and find that it didn't even ship until 5 days after I ordered it. Okay, I got free shipping, but New Egg gets my stuff to me in a day or two even with free shipping. I hadn't realized I was ordering this docking station for my phone from a 3rd party vendor.
Slower than New Egg
I ordered a backup battery charger for my cell phone and didn't realize it was coming from a 3rd party and not New Egg. At the same time I ordered a hefty UPS that was shipped directly from New Egg. The UPS sat around for 2 or 3 days before I installed it on Friday. According to the latest info i received, my phone backup battery was finally shipped on Friday. Maybe I'm just spoiled by New Egg's delivery times, but this seems excessively slow. Hopefully the gadget will arrive in good shape.
