No Real Complaints (Hynix CJR!)
Pros: -XMP profile worked without issue. Tested fine in Memtest86. -RGB -Was able to tighten timings using Ryzen DRAM Calculator. No errors using memory test.
Cons: -I am pairing this RAM with an MSI B450 Gaming Carbon Pro AC, and have been unsuccessful in getting MSI Mystic Light to recognize the RAM modules. They light up with a rainbow effect on their own, which is fine, but not my preference. I looked at MSI's website and this is not listed under compatible RAM with Mystic Light, although V-Color states it does work with Mystic Light. -The top of the modules are Green & Purple, respectively, so when the computer is off, they may clash with your color scheme. When lights are on, you cannot see the Green or Purple tops, only the color of the light beneath.
Overall Review: For the price you really can't beat 8GB @3600MHz + RGB. EDIT: V-Color Support have been great so far using their email support.
Finally Died
Pros: High Capacity. Good brand. High performance. 90$~ purchase price when I bought it 4 years ago.
Cons: The HDD finally died. This is after 4 years of use. To be fair, for the last 2 years I experienced BSODs and have spent the time since then replacing parts and troubleshooting the issue. BSODs were pointing to ntoskrnl.exe which usually indicates a hardware malfunction or drivers needing updated. Every piece of hardware has been replaced except the CPU and HDD. I imagine if it was the CPU then I would experience more issues, instead of BSODs every now and then. The hard drive does have a 5 year warranty and I am hoping it will be covered for a replacement. Even if they do not cover it, I will stick with WD because I know things like this happen, and the drive did work very well for the first few years.
Wasn't the answer to my prayers
Pros: Unfortunately I was not able to test the processor in any meaningful way. I think this is an issue on my end (Read Other Thoughts). This is why I am still giving a good rating. I'm sure the processor is good, and it is certainly an upgrade from my Phenom II X4 955 BE, I just can't use it currently.
Cons: See Other Thoughts.
Overall Review: Over the course of the last year I have been upgrading my machine in hopes that I can solve an intermittent BSoD issue I am having. At this point, I had replaced all hardware except the processor, even reformatting, making sure everything is up to date. Even Bios updates. After installing the FX6300 the BSoD's went from intermittent (1 a day or every other day) to 10+ within the last 10 hours. It would also freeze after booting to the desktop for about ~30 seconds, which it never did before. Like I said, there was a problem before, but it seems to be exacerbated by the new CPU. I have put the Phenom II X4 back in and the freezing on startup went away and I haven't had a BSoD in the amount of time the FX6300 would normally. This situation is specific to me, so most users won't find this review helpful.
I don't see why everyones complaining
Pros: Since day 1 I have never had trouble out of this card, still running great over a year later. I play lots of different games and they all run great even on max settings. Never experienced FPS drop on Skyrim on high settings. Never had temp problems. Full load never goes above 50C, Idles around 36-38C.
Cons: I didn't buy 2 before they were discontinued =[, seriously thats the only problem I can think of.
Overall Review: A good way to keep your hardware running in optimal condition is to clean out your box at least once a month, I will take canned air or an air compressor and blow any bit of dust out that I can. Keep your box somewhere it can ventilate well, don't place it somewhere that the back of the box is right next to a wall. Keep mine sitting on top of my desk and if I place my hand at any fan port it feels very cool so I know I'm getting good ventilation.
A year now
Pros: Had this processor since November 2010 and have not had any problems with it. Very easy to overclock and is very stable. Currently @ 3.85GHz with Thermaltake V1 cooler on ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3. Still room for more OC but I don't need that much frequency.
Cons: Really can't think of any cons. For the price you get way more than you expect. This CPU packs a punch...
