Best Case To Date

Thermaltake SHARK VA7000SWA Silver 1.0 mm All aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Thermaltake SHARK VA7000SWA Silver 1.0 mm All aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Comments: I bought this case the day that it arrived at Newegg in Oct. that is--- Case is absolutely awesome with it being feather-lite. Looks great inside and out, great attention to detail with HD rails and excellent overall case cooling. Case is suprising really quiet with a 3500+ and four HD's including a 10K Raptor. I would recommend to anyone!

Most Critical Review

Worked for 2 Weeks

SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Worked for two weeks....

Cons: The drive offered great performance for two weeks with Vista 64 bit, but suddenly went "missing" in the BIOS. It would show up after a couple reboots but size reported 8GB, sounds like the firmware is hosed. I have another HD501LJ still cruising after 6 months though... Makes me worry about that one also.....

Overall Review: This will be the last Samsung drive that I will purchase. Every 5th review here states a failure. 20% DOA rate is a bit much.

2nd board was working!

ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: First board was DOA. Two weeks turnaround for a replacement. Fired right up this time! Plenty of features on this board. Q6600 G0, 2GB corsair dominator 8500, 8800GT.

Cons: I would avoid 680i, wait until 780i arrives. Way to many DOA boards. Look at all the reviews half of the people report DOA boards, this is extemely high. Only getting 2 eggs because this one wasn't DOA, it really sucks having $1500 worth of parts sitting around waiting 2 weeks on a RMA....

Overall Review: Not sure if it is just a Vista 64 issue or the Mobo, but the OS installation freezes at times with a floppy drive installed (Didn't need 1 anyway). You actually have to disable the floppy in the BIOS to avoid issues. Once unplugged it installs in 20 minutes.

Great design Quad Core Cool!

Thermaltake V1 Max-Performance CPU Cooler with Massive 110mm Blue LED Full-Range Variable Speed Fan CL-P0401
Thermaltake V1 Max-Performance CPU Cooler with Massive 110mm Blue LED Full-Range Variable Speed Fan CL-P0401

Pros: This heatsink/fan is huge! With fan speed set at half RPM my Q6600 G0 stays at 59 F at room temp! My, max temp at full load is around 71 F. These numbers are almost hard to believe but true! FSB is also overclocked 10%. Fits just fine in Asus P5N32-E 680i, tt Shark Case. This is just a smart design, the fan is blowing directly into 120mm case exhaust fan, why didn't they do this 5 years ago? Thermaltake is the best when it comes to cooling!

Cons: I little hard to "snap" securely on the MOBO. The fan speed adjustment cable could be a bit longer.

Overall Review: I have been a tt fan ever since I bought my old Thermaltake Dragon ORB 3 in '01....

Difference between E7K100 & 7K100

Hitachi GST Travelstar E7K100 HTE721080G9AT00 (0A26613) 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Hitachi GST Travelstar E7K100 HTE721080G9AT00 (0A26613) 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Difference between E7K100 & 7K100. The E series is designed to be used in blade servers. The difference is the lack of power saving features. (just diff. firmware). This drive will work just fine in a laptop it will use a small amount more battery life.

Cons: They should state the differnce in E series......

Avoid! DOA... Avoid.... DOA....

ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Board works for some.....

Cons: Arrived DOA. Fans working, no system beeps, green power light ON, No video, cleared CMOS no help. Buyer beware! Stay away from this board! I just RMA'd mine which costs 9 dollars to ship back and another 1.5 weeks of down time......

Overall Review: I should have listened to all the other people claiming high failure rates..... ASUS usually = Quaility products well not this one. AVOID!
