Still kicking

ViewSonic PRO8200 1920x1080 FHD 2000 ANSI Lumens, 16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio, Dual HDMI / Dual VGA, Two 10-watt Speakers, 1.5x Optical Zoom, PIP/POP Option, Home Theater DLP Projector
ViewSonic PRO8200 1920x1080 FHD 2000 ANSI Lumens, 16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio, Dual HDMI / Dual VGA, Two 10-watt Speakers, 1.5x Optical Zoom, PIP/POP Option, Home Theater DLP Projector

Pros: Still running on the original lamp after all these years. Nice picture quality.

Cons: Struggles with the darker contrast like most projectors. Also it is quite loud. Sitting near it can be a bit distracting. Not as many keystone options as other projectors.

Overall Review: It works good. Recently upgraded to an SI screen (gray) and it improves the picture quality a bit. The lamp is plenty bright so don't have to dark out the entire room. Only one keystone dimension so it has to be a straight line to the screen. Can adjust the image up and down but not left and right.

The quality issues are real

ASUS Z170M-PLUS LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Z170M-PLUS LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Had the selection I needed for case. Worked well for a little bit

Cons: I used it for about 3 months before I had lots of issues. Gave me intermittent BSOD for clock watch dog or whea but just kept happening more and more. Changed psu and ram. Still happening. Tried to reach install Windows and it would machine check BSOD. I swapped the processor and got no videos. Tried to run with no video card and still nothing on monitor. Got an rma from Asus. But they charge for shipping which sucks. This has been the biggest pain of any build I have done and all indicators point to the motherboard. Which sucks Asus is supposed to be a good brand

Meh

COUGAR KBC600-1IS 600K Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switch
COUGAR KBC600-1IS 600K Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switch

Pros: It is a nice quality keyboard with some good bells and whistles.

Cons: I really had trouble using it for gaming. It has some latency issues and I had to switch it to 1x to keep it registering a button down. For some reason it would spam the key. I ended up replacing it with a razr keyboard.

Overall Review: It is a nice keyboard for non-gaming but the latency issues and the incorrect button operation make it a bad keyboard for a gamer.

Cheapo Speakers

Pixxo SF-6515 19 Watts RMS 4.1 Stereo Speakers
Pixxo SF-6515 19 Watts RMS 4.1 Stereo Speakers

Pros: Great price.

Cons: Like others said, they hum terribly. Also, the speakers will distort very easily. Sound quality is kinda meh, have tweaked the settings on the sound card and it always comes out sounding tinny. Also, the back speakers are very quiet. I've tried to turn them up but really, unless they are right next to my head i cannot hear them.

Overall Review: Effectively, there are better stereo PC speakers for less that would out perform this poor quality surround sound setup.

Good projector bad software

MITSUBISHI HC1600 HD Home Theater 1280 x 720 DLP Projector 1700 ANSI Lumens 2500:1
MITSUBISHI HC1600 HD Home Theater 1280 x 720 DLP Projector 1700 ANSI Lumens 2500:1

Pros: First off, when playing with my Wii using HDMI it plays great.

Cons: However, I also use a PC for media. But if I try to set it to native resolution then it tends to die out. I looked on mitsubishi's website for a driver but there is none. Before I had a Sony projector and never had any of these recognition problems so it makes me wonder about Mitsubishi's commitment to quality

Overall Review: Better for home theater than computer use.
