Good for portable/temp storage

Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive - STDR1000100 (Black)
Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive - STDR1000100 (Black)

Pros: Thought I'd chime in here. We were given one of these as a gift a while ago and I've been using it over that last year with pretty heavy usage. I have to say that it's been reliable without any r/w errors. I also put a piece of tape between the cable and the drive to keep it in place.

Cons: Nothing.

Overall Review: With ANY little drive like this, you have to look at this as temporary storage because if it's portable, it's more likely it'll be bumped or dropped. If you're unlucky or just careless, POOF goes your data. So just remember to always keep the files backed up to some other drive too.

Most Critical Review

Junk x2

Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: They make good paperweights or door stops.

Cons: Got 2 of these, send one back because it was dead. Just tried #2 and it's also faulty and won't format past 33%. Chkdsk /f /r gives me "Correcting errors in the Master File Table (MFT) mirror. Insufficient disk space to repair master file table (MFT) mirror." Waste of my time.

Overall Review: Does Seagate even test the drives they produce, or just assume suckers like me will buy them and just return them if they're bad? Serious QC problems.

Overall Review: Asus has always been a favorite, and this one has been stable and no issues with posting or memory seating properly. Time will tell, but so far 5-stars.

Intel E97378-001 3.5" CPU Cooler for LGA 1155 / 1156 / 1150 CPUs like new

Pros: What do you want - it's a cooling fan. Works great.

Cons: Didn't come with an extra i7 in the box?

As good as they say

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Great if not they only choice for a primary drive if you're not going SSD. These seem to be the gold standard for reliability. Not sure why or how WD has done this, but personally I'm willing to pay more for a drive if it's going to be solid and most importantly reliable.

Cons: None

Overall Review: They just came out with a 2T external! DROOOL!

Still going strong (15 months)

Elitescreens Manual Ceiling/Wall Mount Manual Pull Down Projection Screen (84" 16:9 AR) (MaxWhite) M84UWH
Elitescreens Manual Ceiling/Wall Mount Manual Pull Down Projection Screen (84" 16:9 AR) (MaxWhite) M84UWH

Pros: An update: The screen and rollup mechanism has been going strong since I hung it up over a hear ago (now that I said that, watch it brake tomorrow!). Not bad at all for an inexpensive screen. There are higher quality screens for 2-5x the price, but if I were just starting out with my first projector build, I'd get this one.

Cons: This screen has developed horizontal bands in the screen. Not sure if this is from being rolled up, but it's being used about every day and we roll it up when not in use. But when you're watching a movie you don't notice then.
