It bypasses your device's internal Bluetooth stack to deliver higher-quality, lower-latency audio using aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, & Auracast. Most built-in Bluetooth chips support only SBC or AAC, which limits fidelity & robustness of the signal.
How much better is the sound with aptX Lossless?
If you're using compatible headphones, you'll get bit-perfect 16-bit/44.1 kHz audio — essentially CD quality over Bluetooth. That means fuller dynamics, richer detail, and no perceptible compression artifacts compared to standard SBC.
Can I use the BTD 700 with any Bluetooth headphones or earbuds?
Yes, but you'll only benefit from aptX features if your headphones support them. If not, the dongle will fall back to SBC or AAC.
