would this work for a xfx r9 290 graphics card?

This graphics card requires 500w minimum PSU rating, so you should be good there. I'm on year two of running a 660ti(450w minimum) with the same PSU(power supply unit) and I have had no power issues at all. As always when it comes to power supply units, you don't want to cut it too close between what you make and what you draw, so if you aren't running a power efficient CPU(haswell etc.), or you have a lot of fans, or you are going for SLI, you would do well to get something a bit stronger.

Yes, and depending on your case,(most cases) you will be able to flip it either way so you can decide which way you want your fan to point.

does this car support graphics cards that require two (2) single line power supplies? (2 separate pci-e 6 pins)

I would think yes. I'm not 100% certain, but my rig is running 2 cross firing ati cards. Each require a 6 pin PCI. Based off that, I would say both could be directed to the same card,  no problem.

Hello,
Having worked on most brands of computers over the past 25 years, most often the older Dells used proprietary parts.
That being said, in the past several years, Dell has moved to using more "conventional" parts.
It would be best to measure the outside dimensions of the existing PS, and compare it to a "standard" ATX PS like the one you ask about.
This PS replaced a Fatality 550w in a new build last year, and has preformed flawlessly.

and RAIDMAX website list it as having 6 sata connectors.

Would like to verify before I purchase, how many sata connectors are there?

The box says it has a total of 6 sata molexes for all your peripherals. And its true there are six.

My guess would be sleave, if its the noise you are concerned about, it doesn't make any. If you are worried about it wearing down, its one of the better running fans in my system, some of the others have slowed a bit or I had to replace. Solid product, over a year of ownership.

You should have asked this before I installed it years ago so I could have weighted it.  It's about three pounds without any cables.  Since it's modular, you add cables as needed.  I own a couple of these and they've been faithfully doing their job for many years; great units and I just love modular.
