RAZER Destructor Professional Gaming Mat

Pros: Alright, so after having mouse pads which I previously owned wear out on me after heavy fps gaming over the course of 6 months or so I decided to go with a Razer pad or an Icemat pad. I finally chose this one due to the reports of excellent tracking especially optimized for laser mice like my G9. I was also looking for a pad that had better longevity or durability since my previous expensive pads (Q-PAD) wore out rather quickly and ate up my mouse feet. I was told the destructor not only had better tracking than most other pads out there but that the durability was good too. Well in my 2 month experience of owning mine I can definitely tell you that the tracking from my G9 is quite superb. The feel of the mouse moving over the pad is very very comfortable, although slightly slick for the first week of use but did not hurt performance at all. I love this pad for the improvement on the tracking, even over my more expensive QPAD which I liked as well. You want accuracy? This PAD does help

Cons: For the cons now...in my two months using the pad with my logitech g9 I have noticed that the durability of this pad is just about the same or worse than my old QPAD XT-R. The middle of the pad has worn down quite a bit after not even two full months of FPS gaming. I am rather disappointed with this. I am using the stock feet on my G9 and will be upgrading to hyperglides however I thought the pad would last longer than this, as I imagine it will only be playable for maybe another month or two. If I'm lucky heh. However, the wear down of the pad I noticed does not hurt performance nearly as much as a harder plastic pad would like the XT-R. Once the wear started with that pad, it was toast. Movement became more sensitive in places where not used as much, and would hit the brakes when I re-centered it. So this destructor pad still tracks very accurately but the center of the pad is quite noticeably beginning to make mouse movement more sluggish.

Overall Review: Durable mouse pads seem hard to come by, yet I see some people commenting on how they have had the same pad for years and it still works fine. Hard to believe as I've been through 2, this being my 3rd gaming pad but my favorite overall. Maybe the G9 feet have something to do with the wear of mouse pads since they are so large compared to other mice. The stock G9 feet are bad imo. Final few notes here, I do love this pad and it is easily my favorite out of the few gaming pads I've owned and cloth pads. People say laser mice skip more than Optical mice. Maybe true, maybe not but I do know this pad holds up to it's statement of "35% or more increase in tracking ability with laser mice compared to other gaming pads." I noticed a difference right away when I started using it. And btw, to the person asking what we did to our pads to cause the wear. Strictly FPS gaming, no abuse, regularly cleaned with soft cloth. Took care of it and still am. Overall still worth buyin. Icemat and laser = bad

Pros: Excellent mouse tracking Completely flat Doesn't move or flex when set down Highly durable rubber/plastic/pleasant feel Imprinted Razer logo, not colored (doesn't distract) Not as giant as some mouse pads but larger than standard, I think it is "just right"

Cons: Cost cost cost. It is well worth the $40 but who the heck needs a carrying case for their mouse pad? Drop the cost by $5-$10, leave out the case, and the margins will be lower but these things will fly off the shelf. Had some weird spots form where I had a little water get on it, rubbing alcohol finally took them off. (They looked like calcium deposits?)

Overall Review: I was a little hesitant to spend this much on a mouse pad, I had only used cheap fabric surfaces before and I didn't like most of the other "performance" mouse pads on the market, whether the way they looked, their materials, etc. I went on a limb and bought this one, and boy am I glad I did. Some of the best money I spent on my computer. Largest problem I had with fabric pads was when I put my hand on the mouse it would distort the fabric from the weight, any high performance mice made in the last few years will probably be sensitive enough to move the cursor slightly from this, that is gone now.

Pros: very nice pad but doesnt last long.

Cons: when i first got this pad it was perfect, amazing pad, but after about 2 months of playing fps games (about 6hrs per day) its starting to wear out in the middle so it needed replacement after just 2 months :/, very nice pad but its not possible to buy a new pad every 2 months, so its not worth it for hardcore gaming.

Pros: Amazing tracking; I use this with my Logitech G9, and it never misses a beat when playing in high intensity FPS's. I play with a low sensitivity, and with my mouse flying all over the place, this mouse pad really came through. It's slick as can be, adding just the right amount of control with the textured surface. I bought this after I tired of my Razer eXactmat, and I've been pleased with its performance.

Cons: Longevity. Ive had this mouse pad for 6 months, and its already going "bald" where I use it most. I play daily, for about an hour, and now, the texture has worn down significantly, leaving me with a surface that my mouse moves very slow over. This is extremely frustrating, making me rotate my mouse pad, trying to find a textured surface with which to play on. Maybe my expectations for mouse pads are just too high, but spending what I did on this pad, I expected it to last a bit longer.

Overall Review: This really is a great mouse pad, a great buy for anyone looking for the perfect surface: the only problem is the life. Maybe I just need to get in touch with Razer about a replacement.

Pros: I have used so many high end mousepads on market for last 10 years its crazy. (ice mat, rat padz, func, you name it.. i bought them) So i decided to give this a try too since its been a while. I have to say compared to the competition I put this at the near top of the stack. -Super fast surface -Rigid (but only slightly flexible) -Sand paper kinda texture but its slick feeling and comfortable. -thicker plastic then the func surfaces (more rigid) -Overall its still rather thin so no wrist strain -great for high dpi laser mice like razor lachesis cause the surface details are so finite. -almost cool to the touch like the glass ice mats are. -neoprene like footing so it stays in place

Overall Review: I would have to say icemat and this are my 2 favorite mouse pads of all time. (in the 20-50 dollar category) However, unlike ice mat I never have to worry about breaking this thing so its very portable.. its also slimer then an icemat so less wrist strain. I think I found my next mousepad for the next couple years :D

Pros: This mousepad claims to be a lot of things, but cheap isn't one of them. For a retail price of $40, it surely seems like it should be something revolutionary. I have owned and currently own over a dozen mousepads, but this one takes the cake. I bought this with a Lachesis in a combo deal through Newegg, and have no regrets whatsoever. I had my doubts though, and tested other wireless and wired mice on this pad, and the claims about it boosting tracking aren't exaggerated at all. It works best with the Lachesis most of all, and I especially like the case that comes with it. I plan on buying the Mamba + Exactmat next, and much as a crafter uses different tools for different jobs, I intend to use the Destructor + Lachesis for FPS primarily (as Razer's website claims it was mainly built for). When you buy this, everything from the packaging to the instructions and certificate of authenticity (albeit cheesy) will make you feel like you bought something great.

Cons: I have heard claims about the pad wearing down within weeks, and I can definitely understand why this is happening. The skates (rubber things on the bottom) on the mouse wear down over time, and using a third party mouse on the Destructor with degraded skates will obviously wear down the pad. I agree that the pad should be a little more withstanding than that, but then again I wouldn't think of using anything other than a Razer mouse on this pad. If you are using an existing mouse on this, I recommend buying new skates for them to avoid wearing.

Overall Review: Other than the possibility that it could be a little more wear-resistant, if properly cared for, this mousepad is most certainly the highest end you can buy in this department. I am no stranger to spending a lot on computer stuff, as I bought the G19 and Lachesis prior to this and intend to buy the Mamba soon, so the steep price tag won't be for everyone. If you can settle for second or third best, then I suggest getting one of Razer's cheaper mousepads, but if you want top of the line you will get this one.

Overall Review: I thought to myself as I was purchasing this, "Am I really buying a 40 dollar mouse pad?" but I listened to the reviews and threw my old cloth mouse pad away and it was a night and day difference and I'm an FPS gamer and this made all the difference. I can say with confidence that I highly recommend this mouse pad.

Pros: *Huge *amazingly slick surface - never used a nicer pad *bottom grips all surfaces excellently *Works with both Optical and Laser mice *paired with my Steelseries Ikari Laser mouse, this mousepad is almost unstoppable!

Cons: *Huge (if you don't have the space, it's a con) *Case is nice, but ultimately unnecessary. Big enough to be used as a netbook carrying case though :D *Has gotten me banned from 3 servers for having "too good" aim.... Hah!

Overall Review: Worth every penny, although I know the average consumer would be more prone to picking one of these bad boys up if there was a cheaper version without the fancy case. Buy it! You won't regret it!
