Does this work with the switch?

It does not have a switch, and the one I bought quit working after about ten hours of service and their tech support is terrible.......located in Canada and long distance rates make it cheaper to buy a different video capture device than to mess with  razor. The one I have is still under warranty.  Alot of good that does, they won't replace it, they are like tracphone ...Pitiful.

Can i record 3ds?

For 3DS streaming, you're better off using Kitkat to input to OBS/etc. Keep in mind this will require setting up Luma or another custom firmware on your 3DS so you can use NTR CFW to stream to Kitkat over wifi. Other than that your only other option is a (rather expensive) hard-modded capture card on the 3DS itself.

Can I use this to capture video from an HDMI video camera?

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to that being said I've never tried. I don't do much filming so I am curious as to why you would want to record the output of a video camera.

Can I record my gameplay WHILE i'm streaming i.e. use both features simultaneously?  Or is it just one at a time?

You can do both, requires configuring using the software you stream or record with. I do this with OBS, just requires configuration on OBS

Can I use this to view AppleTV output on a Win7 PC (fullscreen)?  Not sure if HDCP is an issue or not

Not sure about Apple products but as long as it outputs HDMI you will be able to view it on the pc but only through the recording software. P.S. you don't need to record but just preview it in the recording software check a few different ones for the best quality and least lag.

Question 6

I want to know does it run the games on the pc screen at 1080p/60fps lag free? because I mainly want to use it so I can play my PS4 games on my laptop's screen. Note: my laptop is an ASUS ROG new gaming laptop.

It's not entirely lag free but that might have been the software I was running it through, but the lag that I experience is miniscule I've come across tv's with worse response times. I would say a max of 10ms on a bad day so all in all with that computer I would say it's playable.

Question 7

What file formats does the device save to?  (or is that a software choice)

I have an older Avermedia device and it takes eons to convert its native format (which I don't even know the format) into something playable on a media server.
