does any one know if it will stream to both iOs and android at the same time and can you use the car charger as it is streaming?

I would give this product a 1 out of 10.
It is very hard to set up.
It may stream to your devises if you figure out the set up.
Just not a friendly as I would have liked it to be.
I use it as a share drive, yes it works for that.
Still a 1 of 10.

Question 2

Is there an App for Windows phones and tablets, if not, would this be a deal-breaker?

I'm sorry to say that there is no app for windows mobile. And at least for me my mobile devices is what I got it for so I guess the answer is yes its a deal breaker. Sorry hope you find what you need

Is it possible to take out the hdd and swap it with sdd?

I personally have not done it but i would assume that it is possible, doing so will likely void your warranty. I would recommend that before you do it you create a disk image of the drive just in case you need the specialized corsair software installed. Hope this helps.

Question 4

While someone asked about simultaneous use of the usb and ethernet. My question(s) are a little different as I don't think that is possible.

1. If plugged in via both the ethernet and usb which one will be given priority and be the one to work?

2. Does the drive have any type of option/interface to switch between the two if both are plugged in?

3. If both usb and ethernet are plugged in, will the drive automatically switch to the other interface (without having to power off) if one is unplugged?

If possible please test these (if not have tried already) and do not just guess.

Purpose:
Want a single hdd to use with a device that will only accept USB 3.0 DAS and at times use as a normal NAS via the ethernet. (A wifi one work too - but only wifi drives I find create their own wifi and do not connect to an existing network).

Don't want to move drive location to location.

So I am hoping that I will be able to at least just unplug the USB for the NAS to kick in - then when ready, plug the USB back in to turn the NAS off and continue using it as DAS, since simultaneous usage isnt possible.

1) As soon as you plug in USB both the wireless and the Ethernet go off-line.
2) I have lost my original boxing and manual if it came with one but did try flipping switch on front and nothing appears to turn-off the USB so it stays active.
3) If you unplug the USB after about two minutes the Ethernet becomes active automatically.

So just to be sure.....is it possible to hook up to pc via usb or ether....and remotely tell the device to back up files on pc...such as any external hard drives or usb devices?

I read a review that said "Video: MP4, MOV (iOS only), M4V (iOS only)"
What does a hard drive care what files are on it? 
It can't hold MKV files? 
It's not playing them. It's just storing them and shooting them to my device for streaming. 
Right? Is this review incorrect?

It isn't that it matters to the hard drive functionality.  That is referring to the Corsair streaming app.  Saying that those formats are supported by the iOS version of the app.

Is it possible to use both the USB and Ethernet interfaces simultaneously?

I don’t think both will work simultaneously, but is there a need for that? Because if you connect Corsair Voyager Air to a wireless router via Ethernet, you can connect several devices to Corsair Voyager Air via Wi-Fi.

I have software that I run in XP Mode on my machine, generally with my network drives in XP mode I am able to see all of them, when this device is connected to the network via WiFi or Ethernet, will it have any detection issues when running the XP virtual machine fro my PC?

I can't answer specifically, since nothing on my home network is being used in a similar fashion.  That being said, I can say the Voyager appears to all my computers when connected via it's Ethernet port on my home network, to include my server.  I think it's a safe assumption (but you know about assumptions) that if your machine in XP mode will detect and Ethernet connected device, then it should detect the Voyager.  I can't address the wireless side since I only use that for my phone and Nexus 7 using Corsairs software to access the drive contents.
