Operation Note - These cameras are completely wireless and can be put anywhere within range of wifi.  These cameras remain 'turned off' so as to conserve the battery power.  In this way, the battery remains charged for a very long time if minimal activity is detected.  Likewise, there will be more battery usage if there is a lot of activity detected.  They have a variable sensitivity motion sensor(much like a motion detector flood light) that picks up on motion in front of the camera and 'turns the camera on' to start recording and alert you.  You can control the sensitivity.
One of 3 ways charge the camera:
1)Buy a solar panel(from Reolink) to go with it and it self charges daily.  In this way, it remains completely wireless and you can place it anywhere there is a decent wi-fi signal.  I run mine on solar panels, usually a 1 panel per camera setup.  Yet, in one situation, I actually have 2 cameras running off one solar panel(with a usb splitter in-line) in a place that gets lots of sun.
2)Without a solar panel, you'll need to take it down and charge it with the provided usb cable provided(without a charger).  You can charge it off any USB charger you own or simply plug it into a computer usb port to do the charging. You'll have to do this every 3 to 5 weeks(depending on how much usage the camera gets).  Charging from dead battery probably runs overnight(as I've never charged a totally dead one).
3) Without a solar panel, another option is that you could set it up to run off a usb charger(assuming you have an AC outlet nearby) directly.  Reolink provides a usb cable(3ft I think) and you'd simply plug one end into camera and the other it into a charger.  Yet, now, the camera is 'wired' and so limits 'where you can put it' and sort of defeats the purpose of these cameras( from being totally wireless).  But, its an option if you don't mind running a charger usb chord to where its is mounted.
