If you are referring to click clacking, the answer is no. If you are referring to the illumination, it can be loud or obnoxious depending on the pattern you select.

I don't have XBOX.  Nevertheless the keyboard is awesome and also the mouse.  So far no complain.

Is there a dark red black light mode for keyboard and mouse?

There is for the keyboard, but not the mouse. The mouse has a set loop of colors

Does this require USB 3.0 to work or simply USB 2.0?  I intend to use it in my tesmart KVM switch and the corsair is a no-go b/c it req's a USB 3.0...

The keyboard doesn't retain the custom color setting when the computer is turned off.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hello Jim,
I would recommend reaching out to Rosewill to confirm this but I do not think this keyboard's lighting effects are saved since the RGB effects are pre-programmed into the keyboard without the need of downloading software from the manufacturer.  I am currently using a Corsair K70 RGB LUX that requires me to install Corsair's iCUE software to change the RGB effects.

When I turn my system off and turn it back on the RGB effects won't activate until I am logged into Windows (minor gripe).  As such I am not too sure if not having software installed is the cause of the issue or if the keyboard is capable of saving your RGB profile like on other keyboards like the Corsair one I have.  As previously mentioned I recommend reaching out to Rosewill, hope this helps!
