Pros: Affordable, metal casing. The general design is good, all RJ45s in the back and indicator lights up front.
Cons: Unstable. Cannot connect run-of-the-mill simple Dell Optiplex 760 small form factor PCs, just 3 of them. It can connect up to 2 PCs, when the 3rd PC is connected - the switch freaks out and resets.
Overall Review: If there's a stability fix, I'd gladly use this thing. I replaced mine with another switch and all is fine.
Pros: Lower Cost, Sturdy Case
Cons: Internal failure, heat issues.
Overall Review: Purchased for $45 in Dec 2013. I liked the sturdy and low-profile case. Cheaper alternative to netgear etc. Now 18mo later has failed. First would constantly reboot itself, unplug for a bit would fix the problem. This time it wont come back. It seems to have heat issues, I made sure to keep it in the coolest possible spot.
Pros: Works and price , no failures what so ever handles bandwidth as advertised .
Cons: None
Overall Review: Been using for almost a year now with all ports filled and it has performed perfectly .
Pros: It does it's job
Cons: It burnt up. The main chip gets freakin hot and it smoked - a cheap stick on heatsink would have made this last forever. 2 eggs off for the lack of a less than a buck retail heatsink, sorry.
Overall Review: I would buy this again if it was the best for the price; however, I would rip the cover off and stick on a heatsink before use. If your not willing to do that I would not purchase this unit.
Pros: 8-port Gigabit switch what else do you need. Stays very cool, even tho my router was sitting on top of it. Metal casing, excellent quality. Recomment to anyone that needs it.
Cons: NONE
Pros: items connect fine, wall mountable with number 6 screws.
Cons: If you mount this to a wall with screws, very diffcult to release the network wire. The release tab on the RJ45 is on the bottom.
Pros:
No issues. It just works.
Inexpensive.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I use this as my central switch. It sits on a shelf in the basement and I haven't touched it in years.

Pros: Was cheapest switch I could find with good reviews
Have had no problems with congestion on it
Zero issues over 7 years
Cons: It's no longer available
Some other people seem to have gotten duds
Based on other reviews, it may not be ideal if you have lots of devices trying to connect at the same time
Overall Review: I've had this switch for quite a while now, just for my personal setup (a couple computers that typically are not used online at the same time, a few old consoles, old Apple TV). I haven't been very taxing on it trying to maximize throughput - mostly just a central hub for my devices, and for that purpose it's run without issue for 7 years now.
I was hoping to find more of these for relatives, but it seems they're no longer made, and everything cheap is plastic now. I'll have to get an alternative, but I'm a bit leery because I've not had good luck with the cheap "name brand" switches that all seem to die within a year or two, no matter how light usage.
