Are the sides rubber or plastic?

Thanks,I been trying t find a good mouse... but all of them have things that I dont like or prefer...
Now for this mouse not being ruberized on the sides makes me keep looking for a mouse. But thanks for the answers. Dont you guys think that if it was ruberized this would make the mouse an overall better product?

Is the Free HDMI cable worth more than the mouse?

The mouse is good quality, stylish, and works well.  I liked the gigabyte mouse better, but wore out the button on that with one day of playing Neverwinter.  This mouse has held up for months and is still working like new.

Are the buttons on the side programable?

They mouse doesn't come with any software so thats a negative. The mouse is actually very comfortable and fast to get used to. I'm sure you'd be able to find some kind of third party software out there that will let you program the buttons on the mouse. Good luck.

is this compatible with the Mac or just pc?

as far as I can tell no by default because it is not specified on either website or on the package. in all actuality it might work since there are no drivers or any software that goes with it to prevent it from working. If you are willing to risk the 20$ on a gamble go for it so far it has been paying for its self for me,I have had no issues with it so far. If I still owned a Mac I would be able to say yes or no but I no longer have one to test it out.

I was reading the Reviews. One guy said even if your system is off the LEDs in the mouse still light up, is this true? As well there is a button near the scroll does that have a use? Also are the right and left click hard to press down?

Light does not stay on if powered down, just tried it.  The button near the scroll is for changing the DPI of the mouse.  I don't think the buttons are hard to press.

Question 7

Before I buy this thing, will it bind its buttons as mouse3, mouse4, so on or does it have some kind of program where I have to use a keyboard key redirected from the mouse? I just bought one of those and I hate it. I have to change the programming for the mouse for every software or I have to find some obscure single unmodified key that I can use in everything so I don't have to constantly change the mouse.

The keys are LMB, RMB, scrollwheel vertical, scrollwheel as MMB, Mouse 4, Mouse 5, and under the scroll wheel is a 3-option DPI setting.

I've put approximately  **2 MILLION meters** on this mouse since I bought it, based on my mouse widget by Igogo.

Does the mouse wheel click while scrolling?

Yes the mousewheel is ribbed and so you do feel the wheen scroll and it won't scroll on its own or from just a slight touch.

From the product page it looks like there's two small lights on either side of the mouse. Do these light up or am I crazy?

There are green LEDs under the buttons on the left and right side of the mouse, but you can turn those - in addition to the mousewheel LED - off in the Synapse software.
