Rosewill RHUB-300 - 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: Easy setup, offers a lot of USB slots for all of your USB devices. I am always looking for an open one on the front of my computer...now I have 7.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Don't know why others are calling this as "feeling cheap"...it feels like a solid device to me. Would recommend to anyone needing more USB slots

Pros: It works. Solid construction. Lots of ports. I haven't plugged up anything to it that the PC couldn't recognize.

Cons: None.

Pros: Thought the price was reasonable for a 7 port hub.

Cons: First time this was plugged in with my keyboard, mouse and laptop fan, it fried itself and the things plugged in to it. Luckily, the computer was not harmed.

Overall Review: Newegg was great, refunded the price of the hub without a quibble. Rosewill said they did not want the hub to evaluate and claimed no responsibility for the damage caused by their product.

Pros: The form factor is nice.

Cons: The manual for the USB hub indicates 7 ports with a maximum of 500mA each. This is a total of 3.5A. The A/C adapter included is only rated for an output of 2A. When I plugged in 4 devices, drawing 500mA each, the A/C adapter was hot enough to cause burns after touching for a few seconds. I contacted Rosewill support who first said that the remaining 1.5A would come from the connected PC. I pointed out that this is wrong, since USB 1.0 and 2.0 specifies a maximum of 500mA, so this hub also risks damaging the connected PC. Rosewill support then responded that I was correct and that this hub cannot power all 7 ports at 500mA, and the the solution was to buy their 10 port hub. Looking now at their 10 port hub, it is also underpowered for supporting all ports at 500mA. I have found other hubs that include a sufficient A/C adapter to safely power the USB ports, but Rosewill appears to be selling dangerous products.

Pros: Works well at first.

Cons: Doesn't work for long.

Overall Review: Four of the seven ports no longer work. This is at less than 3 months after purchase. I also have two Rosewill enclosures that haven't (so far) given me any trouble so far, but now I'm wondering... I'll stick with more reliable brands (e.g., Belkin) from now on.

Cons: OK Rosewill. This hub was the replacement for another one that died in under a year. This one lasted about a month before ports 4, 5, 6, and 7 stopped working. RMA has been generated and I am paying for shipping to return this a second time. At the rate my return shipping costs are racking up, I can buy another one new just in return shipping costs.

Overall Review: If this is the way Rosewill wants their quality control to be, I don't see myself ever buying another one of their products. While apologies posted on here by the manufacturer show an effort to correct the problem, it doesn't detract from my experience with their product.

Pros: This was a FREE replacement from Rosewill. No charge for S/H either. Completely reversed my opinion of this unit. Fast, tight USB connection, etc.

Cons: Original unit had to be replace, maybe a bad batch? Hopefully nobody else gets the bad ones, if you do -- contact Rosewill, they will help out!

Pros: Nice low cost powered USB hub with lots of ports. I've used (and still have) 2 of these.

Cons: This one died after less that 2 months of operation. Lights are still on, but nothing can be recognized through it. I would like to RMA it, but NewEgg would not do an RMA.
