I guess it has a detent (though I wasn't familiar with that term until now). The wheel clicks lightly as you rotate it, about 8 times per radian, I would guess, or about 16 times for a full rotation.

WHAT IS THE DISTANCE THE MOUSE WILL WORK?

RF Wireless is advertised anywhere from 6 - 15 foot range, but in my experience for flawless connectivity and reaction to every click and movement, I'd recommend not going any more than 4' with no objects in between receiver and the mouse. Less if you have anything in the way.

i like to know the size of this mouse, is it bigger then those sculpts mouse?

It's bigger than a notebook mouse yet smaller than a full logiteck mouse. To try to clear up the size, it fits my wife's hand better than mine.

Is this mouse programmable?

No I don't think so. It doesn't come with drivers/software since it utilized windows' built in drivers.
