Will this enclosure work with Windows 10?

I'm running on windows 7 and also used it on windows 8. So I see no problem running on windows 10 since you only plug it into a usb port. It should open up with no problem. If you have not used a external hard drive when you first start it up you may have to give it a letter.

I have a very old computer I need this for.
Is the USB 2.0 backwards compatible to USB 1.0 ?

Yes it dose work because I have window 2000 and it has 1.0 and its work for me but in your case didn't work then you might need a update driver or update Bio"s to make it work if still doesn't work then call Tec support.

Question 3

Have a Samsung brand desktop  hard drive 5" x 6.75" x 1" states 20 GIG IDE. Need enclosure. Will this work?

I had done exactly what you are trying to do. My local guru selected the correct extrernal HD case for the my old hard drive which he was familiar with from working on my system. I took the specified external enclosure to him and he installed it gratis. I suggest you do the same. This avoids all potential problems.

What is the size of the fan?

I just measured mine and i get 2.7 inches in diameter...seems to be effective...my disk has worked flawlessly for months...

Do you have just the power supply for this unit?

It also has the necessary interfaces for either IDE or SATA drive....Its just sort of plug and play.....pop your drive in...connect it to usb port and you are done....works fine

Is this unit compatible with all sata drives and windows 8.1?

Yes.  I have tried many cases and this is the best I have found but there is one thing you need to do when you first get it.  Flip the fan over or remove the filter.  The way it is shipped, the fan blows out of the case through a filter - sucks dirty air past your disk drive and then uses it to clog the filter so that the cooling effect will be reduced. I have tried to contact them and cannot.

I have an internal IDE & also a ATA/IDE hard drive. Will this box work on both? I am connecting to an iMac computer.

I don't know about Apple computers.  I do know that I have taken a an IDE drive and an SATA drive out of my Windows computers and used both in a Sabrent external enclosure. It is somewhat difficult to install an SATA drive in the enclosure because of the limited space to push the IDE connecter out of the way and close the case.  It can be done, because I've done it, but it takes some work.  Once installed the drive works with no problems.  I've had one enclosure working for over a year and another working for about 9 months.  I like the idea of having a cooling fan to help keep the drive cooler.  Works well.

I already own this and was wondering if it works with a 2.5" hard drive?

It will for a 2.5" SATA drive but you will need 3.5" mounting brackets in order to stabilize it inside of the case. For IDE you will also need a connector interface for standard 40 pin connector.
