Does the "Sabrent" sticker interfere with the cooling properties of the adhesive heat dispersal flexi-pads that are common for installation on carrier cards etc? Would you recommend removing the sticker prior to applying the adhesive?

The sticker on the top of the SSD is a thermal spreader itself; it's made from a copper material. You can apply the flexi-pads right on top of it, and heat will still transfer from the sticker/spreader to the pads/heatsink that you will add. I personally chose to remove the sticker to get the maximum thermal dissipation efficiency. The sticker on the bottom is a regular sticker, which I also removed to add a thermal pad on the bottom as well since there are flash chips on that side too. Be aware that removing these stickers will void the warranty.

Sabrent lists the drive with the Phison E12/E12S controller on their website. It's likely the E12 was on the initial batches and was replaced with the E12S in more recent batches. Likely you'll get a E12S.
