I installed it as C drive in my ASUS G16 Laptop with an H285 CPU 
After 3 month I get a sequential Read speed of 6,979 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 4,231 MB/s 
At the same time I installed the SAMSUNG SSD 990 PRO 4TB as my D drive, which I am using on a daily basis for video editing. 
On this one I get a sequential Read speed of 7,004 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 5,107 MB/s

How easy is it to install the SSD 4T|SAMSUNG MZ-V9S4T0B/AM R?

Very Easy. If you are building a desktop with a motherboard. I would recommend installing it before you put it into the case. Remember that the golden leads go into the slot on your motherboard PCIE slot. Sometimes it goes in at an angle and then you push it down gently. Others you have to insert the golden leads into the motherboard slot with a slight amount of pressure. These components are made to fit exactly. So if it gets stuck, STOP, dont force it and look at the direction or flip it over. The side with the sticker or chips face you (upwards). Finally depending on the motherboard, the semi-circular notch at the other end either needs a screw to hold it in place or the motherboard will have a sliding notch (opposite shape_ to help keep it in place.  You DO NOT need to remove the sticker and if your motherboard comes with heatsinks at the bottom, peel off the tape before you insert the motherboard. Just a side note that this 4TB M2 drive has been performing very well for the past month and I have not had any issues yet. The read/write speeds appear quite fast (though I have not measured it using tools). All in all a great M2 solution for the price as of this writing in 2025

It's possible it could fit. There are three sizes of M.2. The 2280 is one of the largest (longest). The number (2280) is the length 80mm. You will need to read the specifications for your exact Laptop and discover what sizes it can physically handle.

Does this have DRAM?

The 990 EVO PLUS does not have DRAM, which Samsung did to supposedly make it less expensive. It doe shave HMB = Host Memory Buffer technology  No, the Samsung 990 Evo does not have DRAM cache. Instead, it uses a Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, which leverages a portion of the system's RAM for data mapping operations. This DRAM-less design allows for cost savings and reduced power consumption, but it can impact performance in certain workloads, especially those with heavy write or random read/write operations. I have one of these 4TB SSDs and it is my C drive, plus two of the 4TB 990 PROs, one for data (I am a publisher and have a LOT of files for book projects, including photos/illustrations) and one for games. I probably should have gotten another 990 PRO to replace the EVO model, but I have had no major issues with any of them since I built the system last November. If you can afford the 990 PRO, I would get that.
