Does it come with the screws for mounting?

Accepted Answer

No it will not come with screws.  However wherever you mount it will come with screws.  Primary mounting point would be on your motherboard and it will have come with a standoff and screw that goes on the end opposite to the gold pins.  Your mobo should have a space for a 2280 length SATA III drive.  Do note this is not a NVME drive so where you mount it will take up a SATA port on the motherboard.  If you want faster speeds you will need to get the NVME version that works through the PCIe bus not through the onboard SATA controller.  Take a look at your mobo manual to make sure you have a spot for a SATA III M2.2280 drive.   When I bought this I had forgotten the difference between M.2 SATA and M.2 NVME drives.  I ended up using it with spot that allows it to run through the SATA bus but it will be substantially slower than the SAMSUNG 970 Pro which is a bit more expensive and is a true NVME drive.

Does this product use NVM Express technology and not use the SATA Bust?

No.  I made the same mistake when I bought it.  It is only good for the SATA bus although it is an M.2 driver.  Get the NVME model.  It is  more expensive.

i dont see the read and write speeds listed in the specs. what are they?

The prose under "Enhanced Performance" stating speeds of up to 550 MB/s for reading, 520 MB/s for writing seems accurate.  Respectable third-party reports show the CrystalDiskMark benchmark achieving 563 MB/s reading, 520 MB/s writing.  Obviously, the actual workload influences  the obtained performance:  random reads are slower than sequential due to their unpredictability and block size also affects the result.

Question 4

Can I use this drive for a 2011 MacBook Air 11" A1370 model? I think I found an adapter approach to convert the pin count but will this make it much fatter that I can’t install it correctly or the length of the PCB on the adapter overlaps other components on the motherboard?

I would say no.  The risk of damaging something is too great to cludge up an interface to connect the M.2 SSD externally thru a cable.

I am not familiar with this laptop, but after reading the specs, I did not see any mention of the M.2 mounting configuration, so I would say no as the answer to the question.
