Pros: This is my third samsung - about to move into a bigger place and needed a bigger TV/monitor than my samsung 2333HD [23 inch with built in OTA tv tuner]. Found one of these on open box [other retailer] and rolled the dice. Very impressed. Monitor is very thin, and well arranged HDMI ports on the side. cables run sideways, not perpindicular to the TV. For television picture quality, it is amazing. timewarner HDTV looks fantastic; the built in over-the-air HD tuner works very well - strong enough to find most local channels [in los angeles with bad line of sight - just using an HD antenna] and the uncompressed free HD is stunning. Even in comparison to the 2333HD which is a 1080p monitor with beautiful colors. I run most of my media through a computer - streaming netflix, hulu, etc, and the pic quality on streaming HD is also great. As a gaming monitor, its only 1360x768, and you do see the difference compared to 1080p. All said, as a dual purpose TV and monitor, just great
Cons: 1360x768 [720p], not 1920x1080 [1080p] - but I knew this when purchasing. It is a bit big for desktop full time gaming, but I have used it all week for word document editing, and it is still very good. Prefer the smaller samsung for that which I am keeping for my primary computer use. If you are buying it for gaming on a PC at higher resolutions, get a more expensive 1080p. I imagine xbox [from what I know most games are in 720p] and PS3 should be great.
Overall Review: Do wish it was 1080p, but paid easily $300 less for a picture that displays HDTV as good. Streaming HD through a computer, over-the-air HDTV and HD through your local cable all look just amazing, and is absolutely comparable if not better than the bravia's my family owns. For what I need from a dual purpose, but mostly TV use monitor, cannot beat the color rendition and how well HD looks.
Pros: Very light and thin. 720p is fine for this size TV. Clear and bright picture. Works with cable and apple tv.
Cons: After a couple of days a bright vertical line appeared from top to bottom of the screen on the left side. Will follow-up after it comes back from Samsung repair.
Overall Review: Note that this takes large screws in the VESA mounting holes. Had to return a Peerless mount and purchase a Sanus mount to accommodate the hole size.
Pros: Very thin, lightweight, 4 HDMI inputs, great picture for the price.
Cons: Single non HDMI input.
Overall Review: Great TV. Very easy to hookup and use and the performance is amazing. The picture is sharp and contrast is great.
I use mostly HDMI inputs from my Xbox 360, Zune, etc. but I do wish there was at least one more Component/Composite input for a few of my older devices (Original Xbox, Wii, etc.)
The 720p shows at close range with a fuzzier picture but at actual watching distance it's as clear as could be. 32" is a good size for 720p, anything larger and you really need 1080p for a sharp picture.
I haven't plugged it into my computer yet but based on what I've seen it should make a solid monitor.
Pros: Gorgeous, sleek black design. Very thin and lightweight. On-screen menu's have a pretty standard, user friendly layout (if you own other Samsung TVs, it will be very familiar)
Cons: I notice issues with ghosting especially when watching DVDs and Blu-Ray movies. Some people won't notice this, but if you pay close attention it is easily seen. Its more noticeable in dark scenes.
Overall Review: If you're a Samsung fan, you'd be slightly disappointed with this TV. When ghosting isn't a factor, the LED LCD screen is phenomenal. Beautiful vibrant colors and good blacks. Overall, I'd give this TV a 3 due to price and what I expect from a $500 TV at this size.
Pros: Good picture and relatively good sound. Very thin. Down-facing ports on the back for adding components. 4 HDMI - do I really need to say how great that is??
One of the main reasons I purchased this was so that I could grab a movie, put it on a USB thumb drive and watch it directly via the USB port on the TV. I always hoped this day would come and it has. The only thing left is to make the USB ports act as timeshift drives so we can pause live TV!
Cons: The remote is big and unergonomically designed unless your hands are shaped like Fred Flinstone's.
The only other BIG con is that the control buttons on the front are not backlit. In a dark room it's absolutely impossible to manually change the source, channel, volume, etc.
Overall Review: My first LED purchase so I installed it in the kid's room and now I regret that I didnt put it in mine. Doh!
Pros: Excellent picture. Makes regular LCD TV's look terrible in comparison. The sharpness and contrast ratio bring out graphic detail in video games that I didn't even know was there before. If you watch over the air HD then you are going to see news caster's highlights in their hair and all of the make up on their face. (So kinda a con, but c'mon)
Cons: Wish it were 120hz but for the price I paid, I have nothing to complain about.
Overall Review: I use this as a secondary monitor as well and it has worked fantastic for every purpose that I have needed it for. HD TV, Gaming, Second PC Monitor. No complaints, thinking about buying another one.
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: Speakers became warped after 6 months, TV finally died 2 years after purchase.
Overall Review: i will never buy another samsung product again!!!
