Does anyone know if the speakers for this product are wireless?

This product has wired speakers. Kudos to Samsung, they give you something like 30' of wire for the rear surrounds.

does this have a proper sub? or is it just a low-mid range speaker that doesn't go below 55hz or so?

I'm not a roadie, but I'd say -- by seat-of-the-pants, only -- that it responds the way you'd expect a true subwoofer to do. Of course, placement is everything. In my cathedral-ceiling living room, I have a 1-foot interstice between the wall-length schrank and the 'tall wall'. With the back-firing bass port filling this sounding board, it fills the entirety of this large room with appropriate and *properly proportioned* bass freqs and subsonic vibrations. ...If you want the sort of subsonics that vibrates entire rice-burners as they pull up next to you at a stop light, you will probably be disappointed with anything less than a concert-grade dual-18" Cerwin Vega 1400W enclosure...

Is the HDMI Input an HDMI 2.0? or something less?

HDMI output is V1.4 to support the higher bandwith requirement for 3D but I'm not sure about the HDMI input. It's most likely V1.4. HDMI 2.0 will be used for 4K TV.

does this play cd's & have an AUX port? I want to be able to play from my MP3 player

It does play CDs and DVDs. It does have an aux in and aux out port on the back of the unit, but not a regular aux port in the front to play your mp3. Although, it does have a USB port in the front and it is Bluetooth compatible, which is how I play my iPod through it. Not sure if your MP3 player has Bluetooth capabilities.

Can a connect this to a xbox via the optical cable and have it play TRUE surround sound as opposed to guessing based on analog input?

Yes. When I was setting up this system, we used optical out from another source (in that case, a DirectTV box) and it worked fine.

It would be best to just pass HDMI all the way through, xbox -> this system -> TV. IIRC you need the system on for that.

You may also what use the more traditional connections if you want to bypass the system for "quiet-time" play when the surround won't matter anyway. Or use headphones, I guess.

Hi, I like most of the specification about this system and customer reviews , but I did not see information stating Full HD 1080p: Upscale standard DVDs to near HD quality, that's my question, doe it Upscale DVD picture?

The book isn't real clear but it states that in HDMI mode, it outputs a Blu-ray disc in 1080p @ 60F.  It doesn't say about up scaling, but I don't see why it doesn't.

I have not tried to download any apps. My main objective was to get a blue ray player that was wifi and had surround sound. I really like this player.

Question 9

Does this system suffer from the DRM known as Cinavia? This prevents playback of your LEGAL backed up BR films.

Does this unit have more than 1 input? I only have 1 HDMI on my TV and would like to plug 2 HDMI things into this.

It has 3 HDMI inputs. Not sure about the cinavia block, mine is used primarily for gaming and cable television. If you are trying to play the DVD's on a PS3 chances are you will sooner or later be blocked. I cured that problem by playing them on a stand alone dvd player.
